Not necessarily true. We've picked up plenty of players from lower placed teams. Released or bought.

released from man utd because of his attitude and he wasnt any good. released from sunderland because of his attitude and he wasnt that good. released from qpr most likely for the same thing. released from this thread because we have no manager as yet and because he's not any good.
New manager might fancy his chances with him, and he's free, and free is something we'll like a lot this summer.
