Watford Players

Now that we've nicked their manager, which of their players if any should we be looking at?

Their fans rate Tommy Smith and Priskin as their best players. Would certainly love Smith at the Mad Stad. How about we sell Shunt for £3m and get Smith for £1.5m?

I'd be happy with Smith, don't know too much about Priskin.

Apparently he was gonna re-sign Danny Rose on loan for Watford, maybe he'll come here instead now.

Tommy Smith is the obvious one, but like a lot of leaving managers there might be sdomething written in about not going back and taking Watfords better players.

Just say NO to Tommy Smith, file under over-rated. Not good enough for us.

We'd never spend £1.5 for a start.

Priskin scored 14 last season - and most of them towards the end of the season; Rasiak got a fair few as well. Is Rasiak available on a free from Southampton by the way?

We can certainly afford £1.5.

£3m and for Hunt and I see no reason why we couldn't spend £1.5m on a single player. TBH even without that much for Hunt if Rodgers thought he was an important asset I suspect he could convince His Madj to cough up.

Satisfied?

 Wake up!!

Money like that is not available. Yes yes, can't back it up, no, but you're over optimistic about this whole 'the money is there for the right players' BS the club comes out with. Money is tighter than ever, no way would we spend that amount on one player when 3,4 or 5 are needed.

One of the big attractions with Rodgers is his ability to develop youngsters. Don't expect big spending, it just wont happen. Not this summer certainly.

Sounds promising alhough I think the actimindex is a bit of a pile of doodoo. According to the stats Stephen Hunt is the 4th best player in the league and Rosenior's a far better full back than stretch!

Tommy Smith would be a top quality signing for us IMO

Thing is Jay, you base your opinion on paranoiac pessimism and blinkered idiocy. I base my view on reality, what has happened and what has been said.

One thing we won't do is splash cash for the sake of it on ok players who are massively over priced. We try and make our money work hard for us. Unfortunately most players out there are over priced, which is why , combined with Coppell's preference for lesser known players to develop, why we haven't spent as much as you appear to think we need to.

The point is get what you want for as cheap as possible, not spend as much as possible whilst staying solvent to prove you're ambitious to idiots.

Any Watford players to come?

by Millsy » 06 Jun 2009 13:59

(excuse me mods but if you'd prefer this in the shake-up thread feel free to merge it into that)

Obviously BR knows something about the Watford players and would know who's good.

Are there any Watford players who might be good for us?

Any who we might be able to buy realistically?
