This will be confirmed in the next few weeks when they're back from their holidays. Both will join Everton in a 7million deal

This possible deal was reported this morning.

If we only got £7M for the two of them I would be very disappointed. I would have thought 7M for Doyle and 3M for Hunt would be our minimum.

£5m Doyle and £2m SHunt sounds pretty accurate to me.

Both players I could see at Everton as well.

Everton are believed to be preparing a £4m bid for Kevin Doyle, but I haven't heard a peep about Hunt heading to Merseyside, unless this is a recent development.
A colleague of mine up in Cheshire, has informed me that Bolton and Wigan are looking at Hunt. But I'm hearing bids in the region of £1m-£2m. Somewhat below what Reading may value their 'star' winger.

But that is on the Doyle to VILLA thread. Didn't realise Villa and Everton were the same club.

The only way we would let Hunt go for so little is that we are also concerned about his wages - a reputed £25K per week - or £1.3 million per annum.

I would have thought 3m would be the minimum we would want.

It's always intreguing to hear clubs are 'preparing' a bid.

How much work is involved in this ?

Do they have to complete loads of forms ?

Surely if someone is interested in a player it just involves a quick phonecall and a chat. Clubs really don't go through endless meetings fine tuning the words of their bid do they ?

Another timely rumour from Hunt's agent about a move to the Premiership.

Very predictable given Hunt's recent good performance for the Republic team.

We can expect many more of these......

If it were that simple it would be good.

The bid process will involve 'selling' the idea to your own board of directors, that will involve putting together a form of business case to show why the £Xmillion purchase fee and the £Ythousand weekly wage bill is worth it. It will then involve going to the other club and offering them £(X-a bit)million and the player £(Y-a bit in pay), ready to negotiate up to a compromise price in both areas.

.. and even that is simplifying the procedure!

the club won't accept values below the minimum fee releases in their contracts

unless they come and ask to leave and we find the bid acceptable with the right sell on clauses
