Dirk Gently Indeed, but that would not fit in with the current situaion at the club in the slightest.

Royal Lady That would be like going out of the frying pan into the fire, imo. Adams is rubbish.

Ian Royal But if he wasn't fullfilling the performance requirements of his contract and had been given formal warnings why would he need to be compensated? Or does that not happen in football?

Nope - that would never stand up in court, and no-one would ever sign a contract that had such restrictive terms in it.

In reality there would be a compromise reached to avoid excessive legal costs on each side like West Ham incurred

Arnie_Pie I rarely post rumours but do know a youth team coach at a London Premiership club.
They reckon that Adams has been lined up if Rodgers gets the chop. Was widely discussed at a recent England game as well.
I bloody hope it is not true personally. Also said that Paul Hart is no way getting the chop at Pompey as even though they are in the relegation zone, the owners and the fans think he is doing a good job with a crap squad. So he is not coming here either.

How is it cheap and easy if BR is 5 months into a 3 year contract? How much would 2.5 years' compensation be?

Harpers So Solid Crew You could offer a contract that said if the club was in the bottom 3 after half the season the club reserved the right to end the contract, as to whether a man would sign this I do not know.
