Rumour - Brian Stock

Chronic is is saying we are lining up a £1.75m bid for him in January. is it goodbye Marik?

He is our type of player according to Rodgers.

Also likely to sign Thor as he has impressed in his trial week

Spending 1p out of the SJM budget will be difficult enough so £1.75m is not going to happen.

We got the wrong Brian when we signed Howard - should have been Stock...but as already mentioned, at £1.75m it isnt going to happen , even if we did sell Marek

In place of whom? Centre midfield is hardly a position we are struggling in. I would have thought that either a decent defender or forward would be worth spending money on.

Any rumours about any of our players leaving?

Stock is not playing because of injury and I belive operation so is unfit. At the moment under our strict new financial guidelines I doubt we would pay £1.75 let alone £1.75M.

this is out for three reasons then:

1) midfielder
2) injured
3) £1.75m

SJM is happy to pay transfer fees around that price , it's wages he has an issue with... shame though if he is injured BUT i'd get him anyway and risk it... 8)

Interesting reaction (the smirk) from BR when asked about Stock in the video footage here http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/readingfc/s/2061641_we_dont_need_to_sell_any_more_says_royals_boss

If there is some truth in it he really needs some poker face lessons!

Evident from that interview that Rodgers rates him - calls him outstanding - how many of the current midlfielders would he give the same acclaim t???o - so whether or not we have plenty of midfilelders, seems irrelevant ...the poker face did not work and would suggest something is in the offing there - hes a better player than Howard anyway

Don't see why it would be, he's played very well of late, and set up the winning goal last week.

Everything about that Rodgers interview suggested we're 100% in for Stock.

LOL at Mr 'Three reasons this'll never happen'.

Synical.

Certainly would point to MArek being on his way though.

NO way we'd spend that money on a centre mid with Marek/Howard/SIg/Jem already in place and Davies to come back.

ANyone know what type of player STock is? I seem to remember Wellens holding and Stock pushing out ab it more for Donny last season.

If we could swap Marek for Stock then I would be very happy indeed TBH.

Marek is just far too inconsistent for this league, and is a luxury we can no longer afford.

Good to see that BR has learnt from gobbing off about Tommy Smith.

You'd have to say there is no way we'd bring him in with Marek still at the club. Surely? I'd rather we got rid of a few midfielders and got a striker and a right back, not swap one midfielder for another.

I would be very very unhappy if we lost, or slowed the development of any of Karacan, Siggurdsson or Davies. I think they will be an awsome combination in a year or two.

Marek's a good player who is starting to shine, but I wouldn't be too upset to lose really. Howard is fairly average and not very likely to improve like the younger players. Cisse is a ball playing Centreback who can't head, Gunnar is past it, Tabb I like but again I could live with us letting him go. Provided we brought in a right back.

considering brynn and cisse are probably thinking of leaving
ACM stock/howard/marek/sig

DCM karacan/tabb

wouldnt be an overly massive midfield selection

Gunnarsson is going nowhere til the end of the season, by which time surely Davies will be back. If we let him go it will be the most criminal decision since failing to keep Primus.
