Heard a rumour on this site stating that a manager (Southgate?) would be annouced after the Liverpool game to take over McDermott. Is that still true or just some crap?

Funnily enough it was actually said by one of the more reliable posters .... so maybe not as much crap as usual. Maybe it was something planned that didn't happen - i.e. SJM read this site and realised that GS was even more crap than BR?!

Indeed, both myself and another reliable poster heard similar rumours about a possible announcement planned for after the Liverpool game. This appears to have come and gone, however. I don't recall who the other poster was though, sorry.

That was me and certainly at the time it was true. Unfortunately for the money I have on Southgate, the Liverpool result has now probably given SJM enough justification to go with the cheap option of BM.
