Pearce will never be good enough to take us to the next level and this is a signing that shows a complete lack of ambition on Sheffield's part IMO.

On the other hand he is good enough for us for the time being for certain. I'd rather we offered them Ivar instead to be honest. But of our "youngsters" he's the one of the ones with the least potential IMO.

We'd need to make Cisse a permanent defender or sign someone else if he goes...

Or more light on his feet, which means he'll always be a bit clumsy and slow to react, no matter how quick his mind can work.

I cant get over how poor he was against Newcastle. Ivar looked much better against Liverpool alongside Mills.

I can't get over how dreadful Ivar was against QPR. Not all about one game. Pearce has played well this season and looked solid, if not in all games.

Pearce could be the ideal replacement for Ivar if he continues to improve in training. I'm sure he knows what his flaws are and will work on them during his time out of the side.
Just like Sigurdsson knows he has a mean shot on him, but doesn't track back as much as is necessary.
Church has fantastic movement and work rate, but not such a good shot (yet).
Young players improve their games with time.
