Probably just as well to have him for a game we're not likely to win anyway.

Got the penalty decision right as Bikey clearly fouled the Arsenal player. However, he got everything else wrong today - Kitson's booking was a disgrace, as was the decision to give a foul against Oster when he was having his arm hugged in the area. Easily conned and several times made decisions which he wasn't going to give before Arsenal players decided to pick up the ball before any whistle. Weak.

I'm not so sure about the pen, after studying it, looks like Clichy tripped over himself, however it was disgraceful the way he judged the Oster incident.

To be fair, it looked a clear penalty at the time!

Sure looked that way to me on TV, and I didn't like the call at all, but I'll have to take several looks at it again to see if in fact Bikey fouled him in the first place.

And whatever I may conclude won't matter anyway.

Whilst I think there was some intent to impede Cliche and therefore technically a foul/pen its amazing how often refs dont give these in the penalty area. The inconsistancy of these instances what drive a lot of critisism towards match officials.
Its like the refs use discretion as to whether an infringement is bad enough to warrent the penalty when a foul is a foul inside or outside the box.
Some refs may have interpreted Cliche effectively being prevented from a clear goal scoring opportunity and could have done a Sonko at Villa and double whammied us with a sending orf.
Overall I thought Foy was pretty average fare and weve had better and worse.

Did anyone else spot Kitson dicing with danger when he was already on a yellow card?

Lehman had saved from Sidwell and when the resulting corner came over Kitson lept with his arm high in the air and appeared to try to knock the ball with his hand. No doubt a deliberate attempt at handball and, if he had connected, no one could really have grumbled if Foy had given him a second yellow. Bit of a stupid act really.

The booking wasn't even a foul though so the sending off would still been a joke.
