Arsenal - Get lucky as West Ham have goal ruled out. Good win though.
United - Fortunate to come away with a win as Birmingham had a real go. ANOTHER clean sheet.
Liverpool - Second best at Wigan and were very lucky to get the win. Wigan with a perfectly good goal ruled out and missed some sitters.
Chelsea - Oh dear.

Man U are clear favourites now, for me. My pre-season pick of Chelsea is up the creek. Roman will find out just how hard it is to qualify for the CL if you don't put a huge amount of intelligence and investment into your choice of manager. I hope Arsenal keep it up, and they may, but United are relentless. Only our fascination with local heroics kept most people around here form recognizing what an incredible performance last year's champions put up and this year I think they'll be better. Never, thought I'd say this, but Adebayor may be critical to the destination of the title.

United win again, 6 in a row now for the champions and they've only conceded 2 in 9 games Arsenal looked slightly shakey but managed to secure another win. Liverpool again drop silly points at home, they've well and truely wasted the good start they made and are back to playing catch up on Arsenal and United.

Echo the opinion that ManYoo are clear favourites. Defensively solid and winning without playing well - they'll be tough to beat this year. From the others - Liverpool's manager is apparently a nutter and Chelski have self destructed. Arsenal have improved dramatically and I expect them to run United closest, but they've gone through a lot of their easier games already.

Nobody else will be anywhere near. The gulf between the top 4 and the rest is so gigantic that Chelsea could appoint Britney Spears as head coach and I'd still expect them to qualify for the CL.

December is an interesting month for Arsenal.

Villa away, Boro away, then home to Chelsea & Spurs, and away to Portsmouth & Everton. The sort of run that would have hurt them last season. Although it may sound like a statement of the blatantly obvious, Arsenal's position in the table on New Year's Day will tell us an awful lot about the progress they are making.

Out of Arsenal's 8 games, 7 have been in London. The only game outside London was Blackburn and they dropped points. They've got another home game next up before they face Liverpool at Anfield and United at the Emirates. Both will be big tests for them.

I predict that Liverpool will be out of the title race by bonfire night, as 4 points would be a tough ask from those fixtures, and a home defeat to Arsenal would see them the best part of 10 points down. They'll probably scrape through to the CL final somehow though

Arsenal have some very tricky games coming up before Christmas, even excluding the games against Liverpool and Man Utd. I'd be amazed if they were within 5 points of the leaders by January when they'll lose their best defender in Toure and also Eboue.
