Another player I would happily welcome back into the squad. Armo has been good this season, but Shorey is without doubt the best LB this club has ever had.

If we could have the old Shorey back (circa 2005-2007) then, sure why not. If he brings back the awful form of last season (& this, judging by the number of outings he gets at Villa) then no fanks - Stretch is better.

Why can't we just move on?

Money-chasing players who think they're too good for lowly Reading aren't welcome here.

I'd happily snap him up. With S Hunt playing so poorly you could even have him and Armstrong on one flank overlapping, which would give us both defensive strength and a hell of a lot of creativity.

Doubt this is for real but it would be a kick in the teeth for a great player like Armstrong

Armstrong has been player of the season for me - I think he is better than Shorey overall (better defensively but perhaps not quite the same threat going forwards).

My man of the season too

I think he's getting more and more daring and beginning to look a real threat going forward.

The FBs were a bit reticent to go forward during the bad run but are opening up a bit now

Good cover at LB and another option at set pieces which would help remove the one-trick pony tag. Can't people make mistakes and then admit to them?

Hardings here for back up.
I'd rather have Armstrong, hes been quality this year.

If he's only back up then that isn't much of an option at set pieces unless they change the rules on substitutions.

I'm happy with the return of Little and Kitson, but I'm at best ambivilent about this. I agree, at his best he was better than Armstrong, but a) Armstrong has been one of our most consistent players this season and b) I'm not convinced that Shorey could return to his former heights (LOL). I won't be disappointed if he does return, but personally I'd say no to this one.
