howser The question remains that if, as expected, SSC doffs his cap and goes at the end of this season who will replace, him given the financial stranglehold that JM puts on the clubs transfer and wages policy, Pardew has worked within the "penny pinching", "do it on the cheap" system that Reading operate under and might just be best option of those who would apply for it.

DeathySun Tzu You think he'd currently be described as a 'successful' employed manager ?
I think his (successful and not so) track record says:
Division 1 runners up and promotion - Reading FC
Championship play-off semifinalists following season - Reading FC
Championship play-off winners - West Ham United
Premier League 7th place (?) - West Ham United
FA Cup Final - West Ham United
Vs
Premier League relegation - Charlton Athletic
Failure to return Charlton to the Premiership instantly - when the club's in the state it is!
I'd say he's one of the best qualified managers available right now!

You somehow failed to mention the next season at West Ham when he got the sack.
BTW would you respect the judgement of a manager who when in charge of a lowly Premiership club thought it best to leave out Tevez and Mascherano, two world-class players, and play Harewood ahead of Tevez and Hayden Mullins ahead of Mascherano?
No wonder he got the sack and remember how many games he started with Rougier and Hughes.
As The Quiet Man says, a person more suited to double-glazing sales than football management.

Is that the same Boothroyd, that someone on here said was a bit disliked in the dressing room??
Nezhen Thanks for the 'young' compliment, but I'm afraid that there is absolutely no foundation in the parjudas hyperbole. The only concievable way in which this situation would change, would be after the removal/resignation of Madjeski as Chairman. Until then, this is not going to happen, I promise you!
