UpNorth If the EP is to be believed then BR is in the market for another centre back as Inga may not be fit for the start of the season.
Who could we get either to buy or on loan?
De Merit at Watford - currently having a good tournament playing for USA but might be expensive.
Killgallon at the Blades has decided not to sign a new contract and wants to move on
Cork on loan - he has played this position in the past

De Merit - Nope too slow and shite.
Killgallon turned us down once because he didn't think we were a big enough club so he can F'off.
Cork is definately a good player but dm is his best postion. We have Ivar, pearce, bikey and cisse can play there, but to have another player where CB is an unnatural position is not a clever idea. I would think he would get a fast, experienced CB and then when/if bikey goes then another CB on loan as cover.

Ian Royal Spain yet to score. De Merit must be doing something right.

Ian Royal Still fairly young isn't he? Anyway, I'm not saying he's great and we should get him, just that I suspect he's very far from shite.
I'd like someone who wasn't prone to making stupid lunges for the ball, can control their temper and will let the full backs and midfielders try the complicated passes and just keep it simple. Obviously being able to head, mark and tackle go without saying.

Scarface I think you need 4 recognised CB's if you're serious about mounting a promotion this season. Currently we have Ivar(injured), pearce and bikey(5 match ban) so it's an absolute must we sign one, probably two, preferably one better than all 3 listed. Cisse/Bryn can only cover CB, so they should be be counted as CB in the squad. If Bikey is sold then we'll definately need 2 as I would not want to start the season with Pearce and Ivar, as they have been proven to be too slow as a pairing.
I hoped we'd be interested in Mills, but that seems unlikely at the current reported transfer fee for him.

we had, and needed 2 when we got promoted last. Cisse's best position is centreback and he considers himself a defender. If Bikey is off and Ivar is injured then we need one.

Ian Royal The performances in midfield have been poor. Defence ok to good. He described himself as a defender the only time I've heard him talk about his position. He played in Defence for Boavista(?)

Ian Royal Said it on Sky when the team were doing the crossbar challenge.
Ian Royal I'd agree I'm not sure he's strong enough for first choice, but I think he's perfectly good cover. I certainly don't think we need more than 4 players for centreback. One of our problems recently has been an over large squad of mediocre players.
2 for each position is absolutely fine. We don't need a squad of 35 or 40 players. We need a squad of about 25 with room for youngsters to step up to the bench if need be. We need those players to be good and reliable.
