Never rated him, always blamed everyone else for his failings. Hopefully now he'll leave football alone.

Short bit in the Times today from (I think) Darren Huckerby, saying that there had been unrest in the Narge changing room for a long time as a result of Roeder holding grudges against certain people and having distinct favourites who always got picked.

With the Norwich manager being the first casualty of the new season barely a week old, what odds will this season see the same or more amount of sackings and resignations as the last few seasons?

The LMA calculate it July to July, so Gunn's the second. Wotte > Pardew being the first.

Interestingly, they've also posted the average managerial duration:

Barclays Premier League 3.63 seasons
Coca-Cola Championship 1.59 seasons
Coca-Cola Football League One 1.19 seasons
Coca-Cola Football League Two 1.84 seasons

A total blip on the first day followed by immediate correction of a 4-0 stuffing of a team in your league away from home.

That can't be fvuking right. That surely implies that there is a lot of pressure in the lower leagues compared to the Premiership. :|

managers leave lower league clubs to move to bigger and better things

this records average manegerial duration, not just those sacked

it does show thouh that managers are not "cutting their teeth" before moving up, look at paul ince.

The Prem numbers must also be skewed by Man U having one manager for 20+ years.

Wenger's about 10 years too isn't he?

Almost 13 years for Wenger, and 22 for Ferguson certainly skew the figures. Excluding those two gives an average of 2.01 seasons. Which, to be honest, I still find surprising!

John Coleman's 10 years at Accrington is pushing the League Two average up significantly too.

Only just heard of Brian Gunns sacking...the man that has even mopped out the showers

The vote of confidence and the promise of backing worked again.

A Funkin disgrace for a fellah only two games into his ...I sincerely hope that Narge hit the heights that Cambridge have.
