Sun says we are after him today. Couldn't see it on here... Maybe worth a punt, goals record is good

He could take the shorthand note during team talks as well.

AFC Bournemouth top scorer and newly announced Daily Echo Player Of The Season has played down speculation linking him with a summer move to Reading.

The striker has scored 27 goals this season and this week was linked with a move to Championship side Reading.

Pitman told the Daily Echo...

'...I`ve always said I can`t affect what`s going on off the pitch. By doing well on the pitch, if people start writing about me, it means I`m doing something right, so it`s nice to read.

"But it doesn`t affect me because a lot of it is just made-up speculation, I`d imagine...'

'...I`m happy to stay here, I`ve always said that. If anything else happens, it`s out of my hands."

The Cherries previously turned down an approach from Championship club Peterborough during the January transfer window.

Peterborough United Director of football Barry Fry revealed that the club were willing to offer around £500,000 for the 22 year old, but suggested that the Cherries had requested £800,000.

I was at Dean Court on Saturday and on the occasions that he put in a bit of effort you could tell Pitman was the best player on the park (I'm also a fan of their captain, Jason Pearce, though).

I'm not sure if the Championship would be too big a leap for him, as previously in League One he didn't set the world alight (admittedly Bournemouth struggled that season, Pitman was heavily rotated, and was very young at the time) so I'm not sure what to make of it. From what I've seen of him, Pitman seems to play better when partnered with Steve Fletcher (experienced target man) and is quick with a decent touch and a hell of a shot on him.

The fee quoted seems to be pretty sizeable so it's probably just academic anyway.
