Given New Zealand has given us one of the most exciting finishes to a game in the tournament, and Italy are perennially boring cheats, that sir, is a load of bollocks.

Yep, although there haven't been many goals there have been a lot of upsets which add to the excitement (and lose me money!).

Even if Italy have won more world cups than Germany, give me the Germans every time.

I'd rather cut off my knob with a rusty breadknife than support Italy.

LUX not offside, came off Cannavaro

You don't understand the offside rule do you?

If it came off the head of the New Zealander, before hitting Canavarro's thigh, then the striker was offside at the time the ball was flicked on and interfering with play. Last touch before it gets to him is irrelevant.

Seems to be a theme developing - the bigger and more highly-paid the stars, the more lacklustre the performances they deliver and the less inclined they are to play for the team.

The lesser teams are improving and covering their weaknesses by recognising their limitations and changing their tactics to mitigate them.

Big teams are turning up thinking that their quality will show through, but lacking that little spark of invention or ingenuity which will get them through.

Argentina the only team who's attack is firing particularly well and it has a dodgy defence. Germany also doing ok in attack but two out of form strikers are hampering that a little.

As well as that I think the players in the smaller countries care so much more - this is another game to the "stars" but it's the chance of a lifetime to the others.
