Rumour - Theo Robinson

by LoyalRoyalFan » 29 Aug 2010 16:10

Young Huddersfield striker is linked with us.

One of Sheff Utd, Hull, Reading, and Millwall will be signing Theo Robinson on a permanent from us, according to someone on our forum

Suddenly we're chasing every striker imaginable when quite obviously the priority is a central defender, therefore this more crap from another media outlet.

If Gylfi leaves then we need goals.

Robinson gives you goals but has never been able to hold down a place in the Huddersfield first team and the fans really don't rate him despite his decent goalscoring record for them.

If sig leaves we'll be playing 4-4-2

We only have Church, LoLong (couldn't hit a barn door), Hunt and Taylor(who keeps being played out of position).

Priority is now a striker.

Defender > striker

Church and Long are adequate Championship strikers. Is Pearce adequate at this level?

I saw this guy play once in a game against wycombe, he was WOEFUL.

One of my best friends is also a huddersfield fan, said he'd drive him here himself and pay us to take him

Ingi and Armstrong are returning to fitness, and once the others get over there injuries we'll have a plenty of cover. Yes Pearce is and I dont understand all the criticism he gets. Yes he's slow but he cant help that and it's not his fault. He reads the game well, wins his fair share of headers and he's scored more goals than Church and Long so far.
Long is not adequate at any level and neither have scored a fecking goal yet. On top of that we've just lost someone who has the potential to get us 20 goals this season. When have Church or Long ever done that?

No it's not. We only have 3 central defenders so that is still priority by a long way. Next priority would be a striker that gives the club something different i.e. more Rasiak and less Church/Long etc.

And given that Armstrong has been injured for 18 months and already "collapsed" following one attempted comeback I can't exactly see our left back position being adequately covered either at this moment in time - Unless Cummings going to be the new Bertrand

I would have thought that a CB and forward are both a priority. Mills is carrying an injury,Pearce is adequate at best and Ingi's injury is keeping him out for longer, and anyway i would doubt his fitness when he returns. Playing Gunnarson at CB for any long duration would spell disaster. If Sig does go then it would signal that a change to a 4-4-2 is required, and with a lack of goals between Long,Hunt and Church its clear more firepower is needed.More importantly is that there is little evidence any of our strikers can play well together as a front two.Having said that i could see Brian keeping to a 4-3-2-1 or 4-5-1 even if sig does go,especially as theres nothing to suggest we will buy if players go.We will probably end up signing a rough diamond or two...

Priority is right winger.

With only Kebe, MAnuff, HRK and Antonio we may be in trouble.
