Rafa would certainly be a better fit at Newcastle, I think he is a manager who needs to be loved and he certainly will not get that at Everton.
Never understood the Eddie Howe hype, I think Everton are too big for him.

NathStPaul Time will tell. His reluctance to accept the Celtic job was a strange one, he couldn't really have lost by managing up there for a bit. Celtic were a basketcase at that time and he could have only have made them better, even be it only slightly. Surprised he didn't go up there for a season and try and prove himself.

I don't think you can win with the Celtic job. Fail and your career is ruined. Succeed and people say it's an easy job (Brendan Rodgers).

Sanguine Not sure that's entirely fair. The club had some money and invested wisely, sure. But when they came up to the Premier League, the regular first XI included Steve Cook, Charlie Daniels, Tommy Elphick, Adam Smith (all defenders), Marc Pugh and Matt Ritchie, all of whom had played for Bournemouth in League One - as had Brett Pitman and Charlie Francis of their Championship winning side, which included Callum Wilson, signed from then League One Coventry.
Howe deserves credit for improving the players at his disposal and instilling a very effective 'Bournemouth way'.

paultheroyal Newcastle will be a strong draw for Howe, ex Bournemouth players already there and a direct flight links from Bournemouth / Southampton to Newcastle airport. He is a real strong family man and he would not move house. He has been waiting for the Southampton job, but thats not coming anytime soon, so he will jump at this.

He can't really lose with the Newcastle job, I would find it hard to believe he would do a worse job than Steve Bruce. If he keeps them up then it really enhances his reputation.
Still think Newcastle should give Everton a call and see if they'll let Benitez leave, I'd be willing to bet a small fortune they'd be more than willing to.

NathStPaul Will be interesting to see who they'd go for next. Would think it would be the sort of job Frank Lampard would be interested in.

Whore Jackie Intrigued why Rafa would move to Newcastle. Everton's owner has a history of investing huge sums into the club, new stadium underway and a relatively stable hierarchy. The new owners at Newcastle have hardly covered themselves in glory thus far. And his family live on Merseyside.
Doesn't strike me as the sort of manager who needs unconditional fan support. He's probably had more clubs where's not been that welcomed than been adored. Take out the last 3 games and he's had a decent start at Everton. There's the obvious ghost in the room, but Everton fans have suffered far more under most of the managers since Moyes left. Reckon they've got the best bet of winning something for ages.
