Are you confident we would appoint a good replacement manager?

So, a lot of people have lost faith in Paunovic. But quite a few, myself included question whether the club would appoint anyone good to replace him.

So if he's sacked this month, say, would the replacement choice actually be any good?

Do you think they'd have any Championship experience? Any decent previous success?

We need a short term British championship manager. Someone who would have credentials to get the 8 wins needed for us to stay up. It must not be any dodgy foreign appointment.

The squad is good enough imho. A new manager bounce alone should be enough to see us safe. I know you don’t think relegation is a bad thing, good news is with Pauno I think you we will get the opportunity to see if you still think that next season.

I'd argue that we haven't appointed the right manager since we went for Adkins. (And he didn't turn out great.) So no, I'm not confident at all.

Absolutely no chance of making a decent appointment.

Until the club sorts itself off the pitch I can't see things changing on it.

In an ideal world bring in an experienced manager until the end of the season and then in the summer a director of football who can oversee a longer term plan on transfers and style of play.

Well. I guess this depends on a few things. Do we have a target in mind. Most clubs seem to before sacking a manager. Personally I’d open it up to interview and see who applies. Rather than picking some no mark. What I’d like to see is an experienced manager. Someone with 10 to 15 years under their belt.

Of the names mentioned, I would sound out Pardew as an interim until the end of the season then make a decision from there when we know where we stand. I think the players we have would be more suited to his style than any of the other named managers.

I'm becoming ambivalent to Paunovic. Don't necessarily want him sacked but its clear something needs to changeamd the manager is always the fall guy in these situations.

Not actually sure how changing the manager helps us in the short or long term really. With a lack of players available and without a penny to spend in this window, it's hardly like a new manager can come in, bring in 6/7 recruits and fire us up the league like what McCarthy did with Cardiff last season.

Pauno is known to bring through young talent and I do not doubt, with all the madness from the owners, that is exactly what we will want to happen in the long-term and he is the manager I'd want above all else right now.

As mentioned, when change is required the manager is the first one with his head on the chopping board but let's be fair, wherever the board get their advice from is probably what needs to change first.

I've said for about 5 years and yet the club don't do it.. we need an experienced manager, a steady eddy. Someone who knows this league, can keep us in a mid table position until our FFP position improves and then build a team from there.

Not sure I'd want McCarthy but would suit us if we can keep Carroll until the end of the season. I just want a manager who can help us grind 1-0 wins, even if the football is not pretty. We need 7 or 8 wins.

Good enough to stay up, which we may be with Pauno anyway, just means we're right back in the same spot this time next year though. As we keep seeing.

I agree with that in regards to the owner, I'm not sure we will ever actually be successful until we sell the club elsewhere. I dare say it but I'd actually take a Mike Ashley-like owner as this stage. As prudent as he may be, that's where we have seen our most success, especially in the transfer market, for many years under Madejski and that's the kind of culture we need to go back to whist remaining stable off the pitch.
