United didn’t have an embarrassing result today, that’s a good feeling for you.

When you win at City tomorrow, you’re suddenly in striking distance, gap down to 16 points

Derby pip us on the last day of the season.

Are then liquidated, so we survive.

Current bottom 3 are going.

We'll pick up just enough results but it will be closer than it should be.

Whilst it's too early to pick a final 3 as we still have to play Barnsley.

Posh are gone for me, they have a hard run of games left too. I think they'll finish bottom.

I think we'll finish above Derby based on fixtures left.

The game at Barnsley is massive though. Lose that and it will probably be us for the drop. I know it's a long way but I hope we bring a couple of thousand along to support the team as they'll need it.

I still think it's got to be quite a overhaul for any of the bottom 3 to get out of it, if they are going to do. It's not impossible by any means, but it's tough nonetheless.

Peterborough are gone, Derby are relying on individual players to get them through and I think Barnsley thought they had a glimmer with a decent little purple patch but I don't think they've got the quality really. The team for me that does is Derby, but they've got an equally difficult couple of fixtures coming up now as well. Cardiff, Bristol City, PNE and Coventry are probably the 4 games they will be looking to take maximum points from and they've got Blackpool and Swansea away where they will feel they might be able to take something from them. If they were to achieve 4 home wins and 2 draws, that would leave them with 38 points, meaning we would we need 3 wins a draw from our remaining 11 games to survive. Barnsley, Cardiff, Swansea and Hull you'd imagine would be the games where we could achieve that. I'd maybe even fancy our chances against both Stoke and WBA at home.

4 wins from our final 11 and that should see us over the line.

Yep I said on here a while back that 40 points would see us safe and your post is along those lines. What we don’t need is a surprise Derby victory away from home.

Think you’re needed on the Man U thread in General Football.

Im sure it’s an oversight but you haven’t frequented it recently.

Fairly optimistic thinking we will beat both Blackburn and WBA at home but not beat either of Cardiff or Hull (granted our record at Hull isn't great). I do agree with the overall points total though.

Stay up this season, go down next season. The OOC players and EFL restrictions will fcuk us over big time.

I think we'll probably stay up but I'm not remotely confident about it.

You do wonder what's going on. Barnsley aren't happy about our lack of progress in balancing the books. Makes you wonder if games are still being played.

Barnsley are playing a game in hope that they benefit. They have nothing to lose.

It is no coincidence that Barnsley have complained following the publication of our accounts but in terms of FFP those accounts mean nothing as we agreed a punishment. Barnsley may not now agree with that punishment but they are only complaining as we are in the relegation battle - they wouldn't be saying a word if we were 10 points better off.
