WestYorksRoyal I wonder how much Selles leaving affects things. From a footballing point of view, we're more attractive with a coach and team competing at the top of the division. But from a business perspective, football clubs are loss making and it's hard to change that. I'd guess 95% of our value is Bearwood and the SCL, and the club without them is worth about £1. That's why administration and a cheap sale is a disaster when the club doesn't own the really valuable assets.

Lower West How would you feel going to work in such an environment every day. At what point do those remaining throw in the towel. Selles and his team must have worked tirelessly to maintain motivation levels.

To be fair, his real name is Wayne Kerr (brother of Dylan), so it's a great username.UkeBrogue Huang Kad just confirmed the blue horizon rumours are true

Silver lining for Reading
Reading hope their decision to allow manager Ruben Selles to join Hull City last week should enable the club to avoid a mass sale of players next month.
The League One club have been struggling to meet their operating costs since long before absentee owner Dai Yongge opted to reject a takeover bid from American businessman Rob Couhig in September, but pulling out of the deal led to the repayment of a £5m loan from the former Wycombe owner and the Royals are sustaining heavy losses.
Without receiving compensation for Selles, Reading were expecting they would be forced to sell players next month in order to pay the rest of the squad's wages.
They are due their next tranche of EFL central funding in February so are confident of being able to get through the season, even if a takeover is not completed.
Selles has been replaced on a permanent basis by club legend Noel Hunt, who previously served as caretaker boss after Paul Ince’s departure. While the club are currently occupying the final playoff spot, the focus internally remains on avoiding relegation.
Hunt has signed a two-and-a-half year deal but is yet to hear from Yongge.

Former Reading FC CEO Nigel Howe has won an appeal to have his FA ban from all football activity reduced.
Howe, who now operates as property manager at the club, was given a £5,000 fine and 12 month suspension in April 2024 for misconduct in relation to FA rules between 1 March 2019 and 16 July 2019.
The sanction saw Howe suspended from being involved in contract negotiations and transfer activity for the irst six months and he was due to be suspended from all football activity during the second six moths.
However, after an appeal to the FA, Howe has now had this ban reduced to three months.

traff All I read hear is that no sale will take place before the end of the season.
It wont happen, but the only way I can see us getting rid of the current owners is for the fans refusing to put in any money by way of season tickets or anything else during the summer, to force administration.
There is no way these C***** are going voluntarily and no amount of protests or bad press will motivate them to go.

I`ve already said if the sale isn`t completed by the summer I`m not renewing. the mess coupled with more 12.30 KOs next season is enough.
We`ve not had a league 3pm KO since the middle of September, sick of it.

Same for me, season ticket since 2001 but these 12:30 KO's have ended that.
I'll just watch on Now TV and buy tickets for the few 3PM KO's that we get.
