leonRoyalcop Mansfield had some decent chances beyond their goal and the goal ruled offside looked very tight - albeit I was down the other end of the stadium.
We weren’t great today, so many individual errors, but I wonder how much the very strong wind impacted us. We seemed to be playing more passes on the ground than usual, Wing especially.
I would have thought playing it on the ground would be better than aimless long balls down the flanks or up to a small striker being marked by 2 6 ft+ defenders. I don't think that's all Wing has got in his locker. Get him up the pitch to do some damage.

tidus_mi2 Not been impressed by Kyreewa (probably spelled that wrong) and the sooner we have Paudie and Williams back, the better. Think it's time to drop Ahmed too.

For all the quality Wing has, think there’s a reason he is where is is
Not strong enough defensively (his “effort” for their goal on Saturday) and looks lost higher up the pitch
Technically he’s far good for this league but he’s a dilemma tactically

Well then putting him as last midfielder at the base in front of the defence is madness? Savage would be more effective.
Lost further up the pitch? Not sure about that at all. He would need support from the other 2 yes, but he would be in a position to bring the front 3 more into the game.
plus we can always tailor the tactics for hone and away

Whilst I dislike the stockpiling of average loan players - there’s also an element where we’re rushed into judging players based off of a cup game or two
Ahmed was excellent at Portsmouth but it’s a completely different environment to a league game and it’s evident that for all of his endeavour, his finesse and all round play just isn’t quite there yet

I really like Ahmed and he has great potential…but he’s 17
It’s not like last year when we had little choice to play Garcia and he was about the best option despite his flaws that we had
It’s not the case this year. Abrefa has been fine. There’s no need to rush Ahmed to the point where we need to drop him because he’s regularly costing us or his own progress stops. Take him out now and play Abrefa.
We’ve Ahmed for at least one more year, phase him in sensibly. It’s not slight on him - just the best for all parties

Probably the reason we’ve gone from one at the base of midfield to two. His defensive shortcomings have been magnified since Mbengue and Bindon have gone (although I do think Burns and Williams have done well on the whole)
May be wrong but thought he played quite high up in the first half on Saturday and was poor. Few times he dawdled on the edge of their box and lost it. Not advocating for him to play between our CB’s but just don’t see a role for him as an advanced midfielder
Which is where we have a conundrum as to how he best fits in. Not too dissimilar to when Norwood was here in that he was clearly a very good player but didn’t always suit the overall team
