Linden Jones' Tash The pronunciation of Reading as 'Red-ing' provides a clue to its Saxon origins. Historians believe its name links to a group or tribe of early Saxons, the Rēadingas in Old English, who settled here in the 500s AD. So, it probably means 'Reada’s people'. It has been suggested the name Reada means ‘the red one’.
Fair dos, I mis remembered Saxons as Vikings - but the date (c 1,500 years ago) and Red Haired one are legit - so I'm still miffed

South Coast Royal Wasn't sure where to put this.
Last week we were in Lanzarote and casually looking at stuff on facebook under a dazzling sun I saw something about the Barnsley game being Louisiana day.
Tell me this is a joke right or was I just imagining it?

No joke (except that you can only "Taste the best flavours of Louisiana" in Hospitality):

There are some fireworks, a band signing, American cars, fotspot (?), playlists, enhanced Fun Zone - all the things you'd automatically associate with Louisiana
