Wantage Town - got to this : M4 pretty awful driving conditions, especially nr Hungerford. Saw what appeared to be the results of a ‘spin’ – car straddling fast and middle lanes. Luckily (for me) was on the Eastbound carriageway – the Ol’ Bill were arriving as I passed and the tail-back was steadily building at that point. Hope no-one hurt – couldn’t see if other vehicles were involved but visibility was terrible.
- ‘Vics’ often borrow the Stadium here - their ‘Flying Monk’ ground is currently ‘ditched’ - (in both senses!)
– the Stadium bar is very cozy and obviously more spacious than for ‘Centurion’ home games. No food provided today though.
- ‘Freds’ led by two @ the 30’ mark but the ‘temporary lodgers’ grabbed a goal back just before the break and levelled with about 20’ left
- was a match of precious few chances and featured a low level of niggle throughout 2nd half
- just glad to get a game in, were precious few other options that appealed – mostly nearby 3/4G at places I’ve been to quite recently.
- last visit to the Corinium (now the Talent Hire Stadium) was in May 2019 – for an SL PO Final (Ciren. v Cinderford)
– I think only 2 matches survived on grass from my own local ‘possibles’ list. WESS-1
