Blue Hooped Moose Thought I'd dip into the famous Stats thread but I'm confused; can someone briefly explain to me why we're ignoring all games pre-September 17th?
And honestly, this is not a fishing trip or looking to stir up some eBeef - I just want to know the logic / reasoning so I can try to make some sense of it all!

Ian Royal We were reorganising early doors and weren't performing to our true ability pretty much covers it. And without double checking I'd imagine it's about the point Gorkss came into the team, which could be seen as a bit of a watershed moment, I mean he's a different class completely compared to KhumaLOLo.

So it's a completely selective cut-off? Ooof. Oh well, back to AE

Snowball Bye.
Snowball BTW, it's the same cut-off as has been used by the manager, the club and the match-day programme

Harsh - as I said, it was a genuine question so to be met with something like that is a little

I've not seen a programme this season - are we seriously only printing a version of the table from Sept 17th onwards?! That must make for amusing reading for the away fans.

No someone has written in the programme about how well we're doing and look at where we are in a table from this date. Obviously all the actual proper stats are from game one.

MmmMonsterMunch I don't know why you don't start from the beginning of Sep anyway...it's only 1 additional game.

I started from the game where I felt we began to turn the corner.
I stated that was my date and have stuck by it for a mere six months, all bar a week.
Take a look at the first 6 league games plus the Charlton game and see how we had Griffin break down
in games twice, Harte break down, lost Long, tried Khumalo, then eventually brought in Gorkss, and in
game 7 (Sept 17th) started playing Cummings at FB.

Maguire
Basically he's looked at the results and decided to select the most favourable timepoint for his "statistics" based on the results. If we'd lost that game, he would've used the one after. And so on.
This is one of many shoddy ways he treats the data, but he doesn't really understand statistics so you have to cut him a bit of slack.

SydenhamRoyal to be fair to Snowball, and to stick my head just a teensy weensy bit over the parapet (so dont throw things at me!) since about game 21 I have been using the "after the first 6 games" stat. Basically that was when the defence got settled around Cummings, Gorkss, Pearce, Mills. McD dropped Karacan, Harte, Griffin and they only got back in by earning their places again.

Choosing a date where you feel we turned a corner is completely subjective though.
Starting straight after the transfer window closes on the 1st of the next month seems more appropriate to me but there you are.
