Honestly Spizz I can’t stand the pcunt. Other than being an utterly shit manager there is something else about him that I can’t quite put my finger on. The way he talks, the way he looks, just sends shivers down me. I actually hate the man I mean really hate him. You must have people you have an irrational hatred for? People on the tv or people you’ve met in life. He’s just one of them for me. I cannot stand him.

Fair, but am yet to see it through your eyes.

Meanwhile, Piers Morgan for me ‘British blood on his hands’…..and knows nor cares anything about football

I think the guy is a walking cliché, and it seems the owners have completely bought into it.

I honestly believe we are where we are despite his football philosophy, not because of it. He reminds me of a really poor version of Steve McClaren.

It would never happen, but I believe that if he left tomorrow, we would make the playoffs. With him, I have no doubt we’ll miss out.

Then football fans in the lower leagues cannot comprehend why tinpot clubs have passed then by. What a surprise. The manager has been in situ for some numbver of years. Had an opportunity to impose their philosphy on the entire club by developing a playing style. That feeds players up into the first team. While having the benefit of several transfer windows to recruit and find the right players. Tell people that Sir Alex was close to getting the sack At Man Utd in the early days. You'll receive a blank look . Yet they'll harp on about returning to those days.

Might not be the perfect manager. Has to be given the chance to see how far he can take the club. You'd be upset a few months into a new job to be endlessly slated as utterly useless. By people outside the organisation. Who haven't a clue as to what you are even doing.

This could well be the sliding doors moment in the Richardson regime, we have been playing between average and downright shite but he's been excused by the majority, myself included, because he was getting results.

But the performances have taken an even further swing downwards and now, definitely more noticeable in the last 3 games and Port Vale today is the first result that can be called absolutely unacceptable.

Feels like if we get more of the same, it will turn toxic fast.

Not sure that’s an irrational hatred though. Perfectly reasonable

James Corden for me but again that’s pretty rational

Leam Richardsons playing career - 55% at League 2 level or lower. Managed 4 seasons of 30 games or over - 3 of these in League 2 or lower. Seems based on other appearances to have been eventually a League 1 squad player . His long term experience of "good"? Maybe a dour goalless away point at Barnsley on a miserable rainy Tuesday night, with the home crowd on your back. Functional, job done, bonus in the paypacket. Fair play to him for making a living as a footballer.

Not wating to be regionalist - but seems to be a sterotype of dour/blunt/gruff Yorkshore bloke.

Compare to Hunt personality wise chalk and cheese to a degree - Hunt with a genuine passion for the club (maybe not a "better" manager, certainly less experienced) but has a fondness and heart for the club, its history and youngsters. His playing career was a higher level (and some) with a style that reflected his style (and the people who managed him) - energetic, enthisiastic, risky, maybe short of a bit of next level talent, but he did ok.

Fans liked Noel - I'm thinking Fans dont like Leam. Of course has bugger all to do with anything. Leams job has been to win points - and he has done so fairplay to him.

His personal experience of "good" is (very) limited and does not fit well with The Royals view - we have seen it at a higher level

His persona is the biggest problem from a fans perspective - excuses excuses not my fault "moments" etc

I am not convinced if Hunty was given the backing Leam has had, we would be any worse or better off BUT their may be more excitement and "engagement"

The style of play reflects his personal experience - dour but functional

I think he is just a copy cat manager spouting all the buzz words and phrases without much of a clue of what they really mean. Not convinced he has an original idea in his head.

BUT his job is ALSO to get the best out of each player and piece them together in way that is greater than the sum or parts etc. Develop their skills rectify their faults, get inside their heads and inspire them. Can't really see this happening from the West Stand but what do I know

4 points lost in one minute over two games - his problem - own it, fix it. Fitness / psychology - own it, fix it

Just a bang average lower league manager who talks a good game - jouneyman. Think Rob has been conned

Really angry - It's the Hope That Kills You - I want him to turn this round, because having said all the above, we don't really want more turmoil. I hope Joe J is dealing with this (like Bowen did with Selles and his crazy formations ?)

Anyone know any Wigan fans? Perhaps they can shed some light on what the football was like when they were winning promotion from this division 4 years ago. I note that when he was appointed at Wigan, in November 2020, he took them to a 20th place finish in that season so was certainly a less than convincing start there too.

Tbf they think keeping them up that season was his biggest achievement. Financial problems, team of kids and bottom of the league when he took over.

I think we're stuck with him realistically. Clubs who sack 2 managers in a season look like basket cases, and I can't see this ownership doing it. He's been backed in the window (though I think any manager could find good use for Roberts, Nyambe and Ward). He will get at least until his 12 month anniversary, the same amount of time Hunt got this season. So best outcome all around is if he proves everyone wrong.

Fine. Give him the summer and see where things are at Xmas. Being fair to him he has got the side picking up points and being not quite as cr@p away from home so that’s positives. If we can get rid of this damn stupid idea that defending a one goal lead with 45 minutes left is an intelligent thing to try and do then we might be really getting somewhere. Let’s see what happens if we ever get another lead.

His overall form is played 19 won 9 drawn 6 lost 4, win rate just shy of 50%, 1.74 ppg. Even recent form holds up given we’ve played some of the better teams around us (11pts last 6, 1.87 ppg).

We’ve gone from ‘basically in the relegation spots’ to play off contenders. Even if our form slumps to 1ppg, we get 60 odd points. We’re on track for low 70s but need a small bit of luck or ruthlessness to get a couple of extra wins and make play offs.

It could be better but there’s a massive gap between perceptions and the actual state of play.

He’s had one transfer window to make changes to the squad, plus make the most of the one transfer window we gave Hunt.

How quickly it’s going toxic (and you’ll find a post about this from October) is nothing about him and everything to do with our fanbase.

How long is his contract of we did decide to pull the trigger this summer? 2027? If it's 2028 or 2029 then sack JJ with him too.

It's the fault of everyone and everything but himself. He seems to have incredibly slopey shoulders - just like Paul Ince. And look how that ended!
