CountryRoyal Brian has to take a lot of the blame surely. He doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different outcomes.

Also there were various comments in the match thread like "it's not the end of the world, sometimes you lose games", which is all well and good except it's not sometimes, it's very oxf*rd frequently. We lose too often and win too little. Slippery slide down the table continues. Don't think this team has it in them to string 2 good performances together, I suspect we will be hard pushed to improve on our current position.

Actually, lately we have stopped losing regularly which is a change for the better, losing 2 out of the last 8 as opposed to 6 out of 7 beforehand. We're just not winning enough yet - as I said last night, only 3 wins in 18 matches, which is awful.

Last night was a very "loseable" game, but we're going to have to start picking up wins in these home games coming up. I'm holding out hope for a miracle, but I fear the play-offs are now out of reach, it's about the cup and just finishing as high as possible.

In the league it's 4 out of 8.

Was going for all comps, seems only fair to the squad. Two of the cup games were a Championship side after all. In the interest of balance I'll revise my other stat to 5 wins in 21 matches.

Ian Royal What was the shape? 4-3-3 OR 4-2-3-1 again

Well it certainly was not 4-3-3 I could not work out where Kermy was playing, seemed to be out on the left wing, perhaps it was supposed to be 4-4-2 but it looked more like 4-5-1 to me but what do I know .....no need to answer that :)

Just found out that Ipswich have won ALL 16 of their last Tuesday night games at home........ if I had known about that run in advance I might well have given last night a miss !

Urgh. Gunter so weak on the first goal. 2nd and Ferdinand way too slow to get anywhere near the cross and Cooper in no man's land, Obita unable to cover as he's got two men breaking in to pick up because midfield seems miles off.

It's a pity the Thais couldn't identify another right back before the window closed there must be one from Portugal or other hot beds of world football like Siberia or even Mozambique that McDermott didn't know that they could have picked up ?

Teams defend not individuals. Many of the poor goals conceded this year are collective errors.

there are actually many examples where trying the same thing over and over has eventually resulted in success

Would be interested to know of a few. Bear in mind that the quote is based on the fact that you do exactly the same thing in exactly the same circumstances.

doing exactly the same thing in exactly the same circumstances is impossible, since the circumstances have now changed in time, and because you've already tried once, which you hadnt done before

rolling a dice to get a 6
flipping a coin to get a head
throwing a dart to get a bullseye
throwing a piece of paper into a bin
kicking the head from a daffodil in one fluid motion
hitting a golf ball to get a hole in one
attempting the top gun double high/low five
I could go on...
