Edit: add in how well he worked all of the loanees and U23’s into a failing team and like I say, he’s the complete package.
That was good fortune. Let's see how he does at the beginning of next season. Particularly if the next crop of loanees (i.e. Steve Clarke era) don't work out so well.
If that was good fortune it makes it even more important to keep him. A manager that lucky is going to go places.....

Apparently, its Swansea who lead the chase for him and once they've sold Daniel James to Utd they will have money to spend and push for promotion.

Perhaps this explains why he never stays anywhere long. Full of personality. Lacking the stickability to see a job through to completion.
Hopefully this time. Gomes views Reading as the place to establish his reputation.

It would be a sideways move for him so would be very surprised if he went for it.

I could actually see Gomes at Swansea.

Not struggling to stay inside FFP rules 2 more years of parachute money, yes a huge sideways step. remains to be seen how much a loves the club as much as he`s been saying.

Potter loved Swansea and jumped at the first opportunity. It wouldn’t surprise me if Gomes did likewise. As Country Royal says he is a good fit for the Swans. I still doubt he would go because he wouldn’t be on big money((didn’t we offer him a very generous contract) If a PL club comes in for him at some stage in the future I have no doubt he would go.

Paddy Power odds, don't mean much at this stage I know.
Cameron Toshack 15/8
Billy Reid 6/1
Leon Britton 6/1
Garry Monk 6/1
Ryan Giggs 10/1
Gary Rowett 10/1
Chris Coleman 12/1
Daniel Stendel 12/1
Alan Curtis 14/1
Sam Allardyce 16/1

Lets see what happens hey but can we a) not worry about things until something concrete happens and b) not start downgrading how well Gomes has done at the first rumour suggesting another club may be interested.

Odd that they are leading the chase for a guy they aren’t considered likely to get !

Gomes has done very well to turn us around... but from outside looking in I don't think it's that impressive and it's six months performance only. No perm signings to judge, just some very good loan ones. No sustained track record.
IMO a PL club would be mad to look at him at this stage, and an upper Champ club would be pretty odd as well.
On the other hand football is bonkers, crazy appointments happen all the time and despite him being a suspect appointment here he's done a very good job. I just think people have got massively carried away because of our current feel good factor.

Chris Hughton who gets teams promoted is available. How can he not be the favourite for any championship vacancy?

Yep. He will get snapped up soon enough.

I think it will be a while before we get any answers on this, the season isn't quite over yet, players managers on holiday, we need to be patient and ride it out.

Tbf to Jose, most of his short stints were as a number two. He’s now a manager in his own right. I can’t see a Championship club tempting him away this summer. A Premier League club could be a different story though.
