What a great effort by Chile.
A reminder though that the most important part of football is finishing and Spain showed us how to do it.
If the African sides had better finishers I think they could go a long way in this and future world cups but apart from E'too and Drogba the strikers (including Yakubu) have looked sub-standard.
I don't think Chile could have kept up the fantastic pace shown in the first 30 minutes and Spain were already 2-0 up so I think they would have still won.
For me the most enjoyable game after the Ghana v Germany game which also was played at a terrific tempo.
The disappointment so far has been the general pace of games (including England)especially as the conditions are ideal during the South African winter and yet a lot of the teams (including England) look as though they are playing in a heatwave.

soggy biscuit
sandman Chris Coleman ruined it for me by constantly mispronouncing Puyol's name as Piehole.

On that subject I can't help but notice that during this world cup Jeremy Toulalan has become 'too-la-la' and Fabio Quagliarella has become 'quig-lee-a-rella'. Cracking commentary

I guess they all pale into insignificance when remembering the day that 'Alf-Inga-Harland' became 'Alfie-Horland'

Thank fook France are out - ITV's insistence on saying "Nicola Anelka" used to piss me off so much.

Once you've listened to Brian Moore trying to wrap his tongue around Olarticoechea, stuff like Nicola Anelka doesn't really register.
