Loved Bilko.
I'm with RF here as we watch very little American TV (or films where so often the clever dialogue is just oxf*rd, oxf*rd, oxf*rd)) apart from coverage of NFL and golf.

Wouldn't mind Bauer in our squad but, if we keep Moore, I suspect Osho, McIntyre and Holmes might challenge for a place.
Talking of America, I would love to see Miazga back for next season but these murmurings about us only being able to get true free transfers is a bit disconcerting.

lol at not watching any TV from America

theyre really good at it, you should give it a go
I didn't say I have never watched any American TV. I used to watch Quincy! I think that was the last time I watched more than one episode of a TV show from the USA.
oh I understand completely, I'm just saying that this is insane

the worst people are the ones who do that, AND then take to social media to tell everyone

I just do not like them. I expect there are shows that I watch, that you wouldn't, everyone has their own taste and can watch they like.
I get not liking sci fi, or fantasy, or sit com's etc, but not liking anything just because it is made in America?

That's just a bit mental.
Are you a Leeds fan as well? I am not mental, nor will you wind me up. If you read my first post correctly, the USA TV programmes that where I have seen the first episode, do not appeal to me, so I haven't watched any further episodes. Can we just agree to differ and get the thread back on track?
this isn't how it works at all!

obviously there are all kinds of TV programmes from America, all kinds of style and genre
ignoring the nationality, what are the types of non American tv show that you do enjoy?

There are some US series I USED to watch, such as Sunset Strip, Columbo, Dukes of Hazard, etc. They don't make them like they did in the "old days". Now it is more likely that I will enjoy Morse (sorry, Endeavor), etc.

perhaps your previous experiences in the 70s and 80s have coloured your view of all subsequent U.S TV
things have moved on apace, and there is much that surpasses the quality of EVEN columbo nowadays

The old Magnum and McCloud were quite good.

One issue to bear in mind is that episode 1s in America are different to this country - they're often a low-budget test run which bears little resemblance to the final show.

A particularly good example of this is the American remake of the Office. Episode 1 is a cut and paste reworking of the British version with a few place names changed. Episode 2 is a better indication of what the show is actually like.

Intriguing that I love practically all the shows on that list but have never heard of 'The Leftovers' - is this a gem I've missed somehow?
Others I'd add would be: The Affair, Boardwalk Empire, and Six Feet Under.

What an absurd thread! Everyone knows that the best US TV series was Saved by the Bell.

agree there

just watching one ep is a terrible idea.

Who did shoot J.R. ? Wasn't he abducted by aliens or was that a dream?
