Both Luton and Sheffield United look incapable of mustering a win between them at the moment.
Acid test is always when promotion is secured as with Burnley last year, I believe they'd only lost 2 at that point.stealthpapes wrote:Due to two Leicester supporting lads in my local, I've seen them a few times this year. The performances have been very solid. They're a really good team, with some excellent individuals. If anyone's going to come danger close, I think it may well be them.

Leicester lost at home.
I’ll take that in the current circumstances.
Good point, we didn't properly go top until 22/11 that season after Sheff Utd had the early running... so its there or there about.Stranded wrote:Interesting* to note - with Leicester having lost the last 2, maybe Ipswich are the team to watch - also on 39pts after 16 but unlike Leicester have only lost once.
The only thing that will preserve Derby's worst ever points tally is that this season there are 3 woeful teams at the bottom rather than just Derby (which was the case that season), which means they will earn points off each other thus bumping their totals up.dontbedaft wrote:Seeing Sheffield United winning yesterday got me to wondering - is there a similar "record watch" thread on the Derby County message board where every year they track whether anyone will nick their less prestigious lowest ever points tally record?
Yeh, in 07/08 both ourselves and Brum were competitive, getting over 35 points. Very rare to have such a gulf between 19th and 20th.Mr Angry wrote:The only thing that will preserve Derby's worst ever points tally is that this season there are 3 woeful teams at the bottom rather than just Derby (which was the case that season), which means they will earn points off each other thus bumping their totals up.dontbedaft wrote:Seeing Sheffield United winning yesterday got me to wondering - is there a similar "record watch" thread on the Derby County message board where every year they track whether anyone will nick their less prestigious lowest ever points tally record?
Yeah - we ended up closer on points to Aston Villa who came 6th than Derby that season. Derby were basically a bottom half Championship side who just happened to have one good season (getting promoted via the play-offs) the year prior.WestYorksRoyal wrote:Yeh, in 07/08 both ourselves and Brum were competitive, getting over 35 points. Yeah, although if Ipswich do it as well, that is truly incredible.JR wrote:TalkSPORT this evening - 5.41 - brilliant passionate speech from Hugh Woozencroft as to why Reading 106 are the best Championship team ever regardless of what Leicester achieve.
Nice to hear a presenter / pundit talking so knowledgeably for once.
If Leicester beat it this season, it may well coincide with the relegated sides getting 1), 2) and 3) which is as obvious a sign you can get of the changing Championship landscape.JR wrote:TalkSPORT this evening - 5.41 - brilliant passionate speech from Hugh Woozencroft as to why Reading 106 are the best Championship team ever regardless of what Leicester achieve.

AgreedMr Angry wrote:I think the major difference between us in 2005/06 and Leicester this season is that Leicester had played in the Premier League for a number of seasons before being relegated, whereas we were a Championship side.
They have a number of Internationals in their team before they played a single game this season, including Vardy; we had virtually no Internationals at the start of 05/06 - they became internationals becasue they played for us.
Our achievement will stand the test of time.
