genome Is it Spursy though? The injury list is unreal

for me 'Spursy' doesn't have to have a reason behind it, its about being good for a short while and making their fans believe something is going to happen, at which point their fans lose their minds and start shouting at everyone about how amazing they are and what they are going to win, when everyone knows it will all inevitably fall apart soon as it always does with them, then it all falls apart. egg on their collective Spursy faces

Where did you get that from though? Pretty much every Spurs fan online was saying how it wasn't going to last and they're not title challengers  It's fine to get excited when you're in good form, absolutely nothing wrong with that

You're talking to a bloke whose extended family and friends all support Spurs... the perception of Spurs fans is nonsense

Funnily enough, I know a couple of Spurs fans and Winston has described them to a tee.

I'll wager genome's family are generational Spurs fans who've seen 50 years of underachievement, not glory hunting fcukwits who jumped from Liverpool when Rodgers and Poch were the respective managers. When reminded of this, they resort to "Well, our stadium is better....."

Yeah it goes all the way back to my Grandad who grew up in North London

Also not to sound like an excuse but Spurs fans do like to chat with irony a lot of the time. The whole "Could we...?" stuff was a laugh

Nothing ironic about the ones I know. They do seem to have become something of a team of choice for glory hunters who don't want to be seen as glory hunters.

I don’t care about Spursiness and all that shite - they were great to watch under Poch, inevitably fcuking awful under Mourinho and Conte, and now, whatever the squad challenges are sticking to Ange’s principals and play some great football.

Long may it continue.

Its a bit of a stretch including Sessegnon on that list isn't it. Not like he's been anywhere near nailing down a starting place since he joined Spurs is it? Admittedly I don't really look out for Spurs but can't remember him playing that much.

He was starting to look a lot better last season, and a reasonably regular starter up until his injury.

United have had way more injuries than Spurs this hasn't stopped ETH from getting a ton of shit from the media etc

Spurs have also had a number of decisions go their way (Pen v Utd, Offside goal v LFC etc). It's likely that this will regress somewhat to the mean

Just for the record, I was at Fulham v Wolves last night. Great game and night out for the neutral. Think it is the first time I have seen VAR live. Three penalties given as a result.

Good stadium with soul, and lovely beer.

Wolves were robbed yet again. Gary O'Neil has enough evidence to demand an enquiry imo.

This is one of those that, in my opinion, doesn’t even come close to clear and obvious.
How can having to look at it 27 (yes, twenty seven) times make the result anything other than the on-field decision ?

This is the biggest issue with VAR, they look for reasons to not give/give something. You shouldn't have to look for it, it should stare you in the face upon first viewing. The VAR should have a time limit of 30 seconds, if a decision cannot be reached in that time then the on field decision stays as it is.

Absolutely
We can have a discussion on the length of time (I think it should be 20 seconds) but the principle is spot on

The on field referees need to be empowered to stick to their guns. They are so frightened to go with their gut.

^ This. We can blame VAR all we want but the ref watched the replay and changed his mind. He could have said, nah, the defender is pulling out of the challenge and Wilson has deliberately moved to make sure there was a bit of contact so its not a penalty.

I don't understand why the Martial penalty on Sunday took as long on the VAR plus sending the ref to watch, one look at the replay and you could see he was tripped, yet they had multiple looks and then sent the ref to the screen, which is always a fait accompli really
