Good signing for them, good experience in that squad. Hopefully he does well.Old Man Andrews wrote:Gareth McCleary signs for Gareth Ainsworth's Wycombe Wanderers.

Love the Charlton clip - Ritchie Bowman & co....looks like a young Kerry Dixon playing for us, must have been his first season.Sutekh wrote:Reading 1-3 Charlton circa 1981

What a dumb thing to say, they are in league One, why would they not go for a young player with championship experience regardless of where he came from.Old Man Andrews wrote:They really are a dumping ground for our unwanted cast offs. Embarrassing little club.
He's 26, that's prime, not young.WestRoyal wrote:

Should never have been let go
Paul Walsh & Derek Hales - not a bad forward line. Cracking assist from Jerry williamsMid Sussex Royal wrote:Love the Charlton clip - Ritchie Bowman & co....looks like a young Kerry Dixon playing for us, must have been his first season.Sutekh wrote:Reading 1-3 Charlton circa 1981

Yep, hopefully he can stay injury free and have a good little career.Zip wrote:Jordan Obita joins Oxford United. Delighted for him.
You would agree because you aren't clued up on football.Snowflake Royal wrote:He's 26, that's prime, not young.WestRoyal wrote:

But otherwise, completely agree.
He could do a job as a backup LB in the Championship but I have doubts over his ability as a starting LB from game to gameOld Man Andrews wrote:You would agree because you aren't clued up on football.Snowflake Royal wrote:He's 26, that's prime, not young.WestRoyal wrote:

Obita was not the same player since his injury, he wasn't up to Championship standard and we made a significant saving by offloading him.
Fact.
Reckon we'd end up playing Yiadom or Esteves there. Gibson certainly doesn't look like a LB, but then I wouldn't have thought Holmes could play RB, so you never know.URZZZZ wrote:He could do a job as a backup LB in the Championship but I have doubts over his ability as a starting LB from game to gameOld Man Andrews wrote:You would agree because you aren't clued up on football.Snowflake Royal wrote: He's 26, that's prime, not young.

And you still have the problem of his fitness. If Richards got a long term injury, you wouldn’t be confident of Obita filling in for a while given he struggles to play three games a week (which we have pretty much every week this year)
In saying that we don’t seem to have a backup LB in the event that Richards does get injured, so will either end up relying on someone unproven (Bristow) or someone who doesn’t play LB as a primary position (e.g Gibson and he’s hardly proven himself)
