Wonderkid had talks with Reading

Reading held talks with 17 yr old Icelandic wonderkid Ingolfur Sigurdsson couple of weeks ago I have learned. He negotiated his release from dutch club Heerenveen last month as he just wasnt adapting to the culture there. He is regarded as THE MOST talented player to come out of Iceland for a long time. He has also been wanted by Arsenal and Man Utd and he also held talks with other clubs after quitting Heerenveen before moving to KR Reykjavik on a 8 month contract last month.

Reading are believed to have decided to have scouts watching Sigurdsson playing for KR Reykjavik the coming summer. I will post more when I hear it.

Looks like a good prospect and if we got him hopefully it would shut up some of the moaners on here. But I doubt it. Maybe worth keeping bryn or ivar as player/coach to help the lad settle in if he found it hard at Heerenveen.

But then we have an excellent record with youngsters currently and also have a strong Icelandic connection so at his age who's to say he wouldn't be better served by a couple of years here playing rather than a couple of years there being occasionally loaned out - unless he really is that good of course....
