We've finally finished counting in the Hob Nob Anyone? end of season awards for the Championship winning 2011/2012 season. The 2010/2011 season was the first time in 13 years of on-line voting we had a double winner with Shane Long picking up both the Player of the Season and Most Improved Player titles.
History has repeated itself right away this year with Alex Pearce picking up both awards. Pearce had a stunning season being the rock in the centre of a Reading team with a incredible defensive record. Voting was tight for Player of the Season but Pearce was a runaway winner for Most Improved Player. Congratulations to Alex.
The awards also included categories for the best and worst performances of the season. Who can forget those two classic games at West Ham United and Southampton? Reading fans remain upbeat for next season with 88% thinking the Royals will finish midtable or just outside the relegation positions.
