Reading defender Alex Pearce has signed a new contract to keep him at Reading for another two seasons. Pearce was widely expected to be making an exit after a season that was dominated with constant rumour surrounding contract discussions. Pearce has failed to make an appearance for the Royals since March. Clearly the club have produced a very good offer, for a Championship club, to retain Pearce's services.
With the exception of some spells out on loan in 2007 and 2008, Pearce has spent his entire professional career at Reading FC after signing as a trainee in the summer of 2006. Pearce has made nearly 150 appearances for the Royals.
