strap Does anybody know of a website dedicated to listing historic transfer fees paid for players? I'm trying to create a history of all the transfer fees of all our players over their whole careers, and am coming up short.
Soccerbase is OK as far back as the late 1990's, but after that I'm reduced to scouring through past issues of Rothmans. This gets me only as far back as 1969/70. Since1888 doesnlt list transfer fees, and the AFS site only has the last 12 months. UK A-Z of YTransfers doesnlt show fees, only clubs and appearances.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Dangerous and subjective territory, transfer fees. Minty Murray went to Brentford in 1977 (?) for three grand and a set of fitted carpets (but how big was his house???).
Other thought - you also need to deflate fees into present day money e.g. did Steve Moran cost more than Darren Caskey in real terms. On a more practical note I might remember some mid 60s fees.

Barry the bird boggler You might find Alan Sedunary's Who's Who of Reading FC 1920-2001 useful as I think that's the one that lists every player who played for Reading along with transfer details and a list of other clubs player for.

Just to add to this, our transfer fees are getting more and more complicated and conditional these days

Exactly - wall to wall carpets just seem to be a little bit passé these days. Perhaps the 00s equivalent might be some nice floor tiles in the hallway, wood veneer in the lounge and dining room and some top notch lino in the kitchen and downstairs WC.
