Sanguine Criticism of City rather discredits a much Liverpool performance. Better pressing in midfield, more disciplined at full-back, and Salah back in the middle (and surely now he stays there!?!). Joe Gomez also had what was probably the best game of his life.
Agree to an extent, Liverpool had to be more pragmatic, too often in recent weeks they’ve conceded the first goal, their high line after 1 minute last week against Arsenal was ridiculous. Doesn’t mean you have to play deep but choosing the right moments to press up and engaging as a team, not just individuals. So in that regard, they were much better.
But do think City could have done more, not enough drive, safe passing - 63% possession (sure that’s a moral victory for some here). Particularly think Foden could have done more against Milner, didn’t seem too interested in having a go at him, which is odd given the success he had in the respective fixture last season. Odd use of subs (or lack of) with Grealish and Mahrez there
