Sanguine Criticism of City rather discredits a much Liverpool performance. Better pressing in midfield, more disciplined at full-back, and Salah back in the middle (and surely now he stays there!?!). Joe Gomez also had what was probably the best game of his life.

Agree to an extent, Liverpool had to be more pragmatic, too often in recent weeks they’ve conceded the first goal, their high line after 1 minute last week against Arsenal was ridiculous. Doesn’t mean you have to play deep but choosing the right moments to press up and engaging as a team, not just individuals. So in that regard, they were much better.

But do think City could have done more, not enough drive, safe passing - 63% possession (sure that’s a moral victory for some here). Particularly think Foden could have done more against Milner, didn’t seem too interested in having a go at him, which is odd given the success he had in the respective fixture last season. Odd use of subs (or lack of) with Grealish and Mahrez there

I sincerely doubt that.

That's consistent with what is City's only real weakness. They're so committed to attacking that they can leave themselves vulnerable to being hit on the break. One bit of attacking brilliance or one defensive error and they can easily concede - which usually isn't an issue as they'll typically score more than they concede from breaks.

Well now, that was very impressive from Man Utd.

Which is ok from me as it was against a Conte team.

Confirms that Ronaldo has nothing much more to offer bar the occasional 10 minute cameo, if that, seeing as he walked off down the tunnel before the end of the game.

What a little bitch.

Ten Hag has said he will deal with him tomorrow.

He clearly has the trust and admiration of the rest of the squad (and supporters) now, so there will be nobody taking CR7’s side which, personally, I think is great.

Yep - very impressed by United. Played progressively in the right areas. Dalot, in particular, was superb. Bit of patience will be needed but VH may be the man for them

On the other hand, just don’t see Conte as a long term fit for Spurs. They weren’t happy with Mourinho or Nuno’s football and I see nothing different here. Pack their own box, unable to string three passes together. They’ve done well overall under Conte, both last season and this season, but I’m struggling to grasp how, second best in too many games this season

So, do you think United will be taking up that option of a 3rd year with Ronaldo?

Funny seeing all his fanboys on SM saying that ETH "disrespected" him by asking him to walm up then not bringing him on.

Shit, maybe I should call disrespect next time my boss asks me to prep something that isn't ultimately required. I'd say dusrespect is prowling around like a petulant child because you don't get your own way.

I'd warmed to Ronaldo is recent years as underneath all the media bullshit, he seems like a decent enough bloke but, Christ, he's behaving like a cock.

Not exactly going to stick my neck out and say United have turned a corner but, they look as if they are improving. I listened to a pundit on Talksport after their draw with Newcastle who said that United actually aren't any better than last season, which I simply don't agree with. The only league games they've dropped points in this season beyond those awful first 2 games are City and Newcastle. City was bad, yes, but Newcastle is becoming an increasingly difficult fixture and United have also beaten Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs (albeit all at home), but that's certainly a step in the right direction. I think they could get top 4 this season.

I do think Conte is the right manager for Spurs, but they need to think about what they want. He's a top coach and is a proven winner and they'd honestly be better off just steadily building, remaining in the top 4 and challenging/winning trophies in the next couple of seasons with Conte before they are serious title challengers and are going to consistently be at the top.

Interesting stats on Darwin Nunez. Per 90 minutes played, Nunez ranked 1st in the Premier League for total shots, touches in opposition box and xG. Last night against West Ham he also recorded the fastest speed ever measured in the Premier League, with one burst reading 38.0 km/h, 23.6mph.

Still a very raw talent, but don't be surprised if he starts to dominate at some point this season.

Interesting.

As I said the other day "fast as fcuk, but brain dead".

I may well be proved wrong (it happens occasinally) but although his speed and the quality of his teammates will certainly result in goals for him I'm not convinced he's a Klopp man long-term. As I think you've said before though, a work in progress and maybe he will develop better football intelligence as they work on him.

Pointless fact. TAA, if he plays against Forest, will be the first player since Don Hutchinson to play in the Premier league next to a river that matches his name.

Haaland is just nuts

When has the premier league had a player of his skill ?

Makes you wonder if leeds spent a little time with former players and their families maybe could have woo’d him over.

Happens a lot in American sports, lots of children of former pros. Who knows maybe there’s a Bas Savage jr or Cureton Jr out there that could be taken in and turned into a premier league striker

Man City way off the pace today, but still managed a comfortable win.

Didn’t watch Liverpool but looks like last week’s game took a fair bit out of both teams.

Chelsea Man Utd was a pretty ropey affair.

Five of us do a both teams to score bet and the late, late show at Stamford Bridge has just brought us in £80 for a £1 stake each. 8)

Haaland is only 6 goals away from equaling last seasons PL top goalscorer
