Do you support more than one club?

by readingbedding » 13 Jul 2006 15:05

I'm not talking about liking the way a team plays, I mean support.

I mean switching allegiance.
I mean changing your mind growing up.

Reading this forum there seems to be people who have more than one club in their hearts.

It would be interesting to know why.

If Spacey replies saying "no" then he's a liar as he is a Liverpool fan at heart.....

It's not a witch hunt, I'm just interested as to why some people can support two teams.

Then you're a fool. I've moved down to Exeter and refused to support the local team.

If I had known that there was a Reading Football Club when I was a kid, then I wouldn't have done so.

I used to follow Forest, but Reading always came first. I still look out for their results and will watch them if they're on TV

I don't think that would be supporting 2 clubs in my book.
I look out for results of other teams because of old mates, ex's etc.

How can I have supported Liverpool if I never went to a Liverpool game as a kid? Also I never knew the names of any Liverpool player when I was a kid.

I might have worn a Liverpool shirt as a kid, I was just one of these ignorant kids who followed the trend without knowing why until he saw the light.

That doesn't count either.

I went to Reading FC games very early in life, but that was more for my Dad's benefit than mine I think.

I mean from your teenage years upwards, when you begin ton understand what it is to support your local team, your only team.

I'm a part owner of the reformed Czech 2nd division side Bohemians Prague (a very small part it has to be said) and I keep an eye out for their results on their web page "the virtual dimple" (their ground is called "the dimple").

They were just a club I remembered from a bit of brief highlights in the 80s. Whereas every other eastern block club seemed to play in vast oval bowl type stadium, their's was like a sardine tin with pitch inside.

I plan to go out and watch them play (and have a long weekend in Prague, it has to said) on the first international weekend in September. I might go and see the Czech play Wales as well if I can get a ticket.

I can hardly call myself a "fan" of them though. I couldn't name a single one of their players.
