Smoking Kills Dancing Doe Shittu is better than Pearce, Coppell doesn't want to play Bikey. Shittu would not be cover and would improve our starting 11.

Pearce is better than Doobs. Pearce and Shittu it is if not Pearce and Bikey

Wycombe Royal I agree, but as I said previously we won't get a player in on loan who is better than what we have unless they are promised first team football, why sit on our bench when they could sit on the bench of their Premiership club?

Well a few reasons
1. They aren't actually making it onto the bench at their current club
2. They are out of contract in the summer and looking to get a move on the table
3. They have personal reasons for relocating (see Jay Tabb....)
4. They are professional enough to know that no one gets a guaranteed first team place and are prepared to battle for it. Interestingly I don't recall any of the multiple players who we have had out on loan have been given guaranteed starting places for their loan sides.

All a bit theoretical though ! I have reasons to think the Shittu option is not just something dreamt up on HNA and definiteoy think it would add depth to our defence and avoid us having to make lots of changes in the event of an injury or use players in positions which are not ideal.

Bikey when fit should easily get into the team. If not in defence then in the midfield.

There is no way Shittu will come here unless he thinks he will be a first team regular and if that happens it will be a kick in the teeth for Alex Pearce who has done nothing wrong (as he is the one most likely to make way). As adefence we aren't conceding many goals and we have 5 fit players who can play in that position. We do not need a sixth.

He wouldn't come here to sit on the bench, he'd come here to play because Coppell would think he is better than what we have.

Not saying I know what Coppell thinks, just that would be the case IF we did sign him.

Looks like a good time to agree to differ !

I don't know Shittu's personal circumstances but he's essentially a 'Southerner' who moved to Bolton and doesn;t seem to be getting games so may well be keen to go somewhere on loan. Him thinking he can be a regular here and actually achieving it are two different things of course and you'd hope a player coming in would want to play. I'd suggest he's more likely to challenge Duberry as the 'muscle' in the defence than Pearce who has taken on the role of the organiser. I'd agree 100% that Pearce has done more than enough to hold his place on merit.

We're not going to agree on whether using midfielders to fill in at the back is a smart move in a promotion race, I'd rather have specialists and keep the midfielders doing what they do best but of course Cisse and Bryn have done well for us at the back in the past.

We shall see. I think Shittu will go somewhere in the next few days and there have been stories linking us with him. I 'd probably have other places I'd look at first but sometimes you grab opportunities and this may be one of those situations.

High risk strategy to bring in an entire new defence at this stage of the season.

Was barely a week ago Hobnob was claiming Birmingham had a shite defence. Now they replace some of them and that is wrong too!

No, I don't think I said it was wrong. Not replacing them might also have been high risk. But major surgery at this stage doesn't give you any games to bed a defence in.

There's also the factor that there can be more than one 'Hobnob' opinion !!

I don't think it's any worse than letting their current defence run out there every week!

I think McLeish is sane enough not to bed them all in at the same time. I think Shittu would be straight into their side, with Carr and then Traore following.
