Wouldn't get in the side, got two players booked on Sat, Sunderland need him ( ), and Fedders wouldn't be happy.

WUM attempt?

I doubt Federici would be bothered at all by us signing a player that is willing to go in where it hurts with a keeper.

Not at all. He is proven at this level and it would appear that Dave Jones at Cardiff will not put in a bid http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 23,00.html

"Jones is keen on retaining the 25-year-old's services, but admits the club cannot afford the £5million fee The Black Cats paid Cardiff back in the summer of 2007."

I suspect £5 million may be the issue - whilst we've got that sort of money it would be madness to waste it on Chopra. If that's the sort of money being talked about for him then Doyle is really worth large sums...

Credit crunch? Unless there is a clause in his contract would Blunderland really expect £5m for a fringe player? I think that there is scope for negotiation. Swapsies with shunt?

I don't think clauses work like that to stipulate a minimum the player is allowed to sold for.

Id rather have Bothroyd! Didn't give Ingi or Doobs anything on Boxing day & was a great link between the midfield and the pace of Chopra up front

He gave Duberry an elbow in the first half and a provokation in the second half...

His record at Sunderland was not something to look at.

OK so he gave Doobs an elbow  (part & parcel of being a centre half). I do think that Bothroyd was the best player on the pitch Boxing day though and would suit our team.

Because he wouldn't give us anything different to what we already have.

We need a new striker, but it should be a target man who can also hold the ball up and defender at set pieces - a poor mans Drogba if you want an example.

Or Dave Kitson would be another good example.

Yep - the point, of course, being that we haven't replaced him....yet.

Boothroyd WOULD be a better fit than Chopra - problem is that with Chopra gone and McCormack injured, Cardiff won't let Boothroyd go as they would be bereft of goalscorers!

The elbow was not at all 'part and parcel' of anything ! Clear and obvious red card....

Bothroyd did however look a decent enough player, nowhere near as good as Kitson and not especially mobile or a goal threat. I'm not too sure what he would give us unless we totally changed the way we play and seeing as we haven;t wanted to change our style to fit Marek in I can;t see us doing it for a player of lesser ability such as Bothroyd.
