Refwatch...WATFORD (A)

by higher » 05 Dec 2006 15:47

REF...CHRIS FOY(Merseyside)
Asst 1..S.Artis
Asst 2..D.Babski
4th official..Rob Styles <--Is he stalking us??
PGMO..M.Reed

Historically weve had some disasterous results with Foy officiating(old stagers will recall some of the games below ).But the times they are a changing and lets hope the law of balancing up can take place at vicarage rd come saturday! Were good enough thats for sure.

Watfords boss Boothroyd isnt exactly overly chuffed with Chris Foy and made a recent outburst following their 2-1 defeat at Pompey..."referees who get decisions wrong should be put in the stocks and hit with rotten tomatoes". " and this is good...."Why should us poor managers put up with this kind of s***?" <-- you said it Adie.
Boothroyd was fuming about a decision by Chris Foy to award a penalty for a challenge by Jay DeMerit on Kanu, claiming the Nigerian striker was both offside and not fouled. But television replays have since confirmed the referee's decision was correct on both counts.
<--Foy (left)looking decidedly disinterested in Boothroyds rotten tomato threats although his assistants seem a tad perturbed about the prospect.

Get in.

Jesus, I never knew he was in charge of so many poor results. I can certainly remember all of those games. As for Foy himself, he's been known to make the odd poor decision or 3 in the past!!

To be fair, yes he was. Although again to be fair, we should have scored at least 4 in that first half so really we only have ourselves to blame.

I remember the 3-1 defeat at Leeds, the referee was definitely a homer.

I don't think decisions have had a bad effect on the Reading players so far; they get on with it and win matches.

Possible the Aston Villa decision against Sonks was the one with most effect cos we went on to lose a lead and then to Wigan to lose there without him.

We're always gonna see bad decisions but then some of them only get 'professional' views after about 20 reruns on tele !!

Would he be allowed to referee two consecutive games of ours then? I would have thought that was a stupid idea - but then again, the FA aren't nornally known for their common sense

Please just one game where we're talking about the football after the game and not the referee!

We need Howard Webb to referee another one of our games for that to happen.

Every game in the Prem, not just Reading ones, seems to end up with more or as much about the ref and his wrong decisions as the game. We have had some terrible refs this season and I have seen some terrible ones on tv. Clattenburg did n´t look too bad the other night.

This guy Foy looks a right muppett.

Clattenburg is a breath of fresh air.Youngest ref to officiate in the prem. He`s already up to 5th in the rate the ref league although since Rob Styles is above him in 4th that doesnt say a lot in itself.

Just wondering what lucky soul will be appointed the Chelsea away game.Clattenburg would do me.

Maybe he'll give us a penalty or two this weekend to make up for the errors at Pompey when we should have had 2 IMHO.

To be fair the actual spot kick he gave to Portsmouth was quite right.

I doubt we'd score them though!

But Super Horns, will you have abandoned the ball boy towel trick or will we have to point it out to your manager's best mate Mr Foy?!

Whinger Warnock was right for once, it is a bit naughty.
