I'm not sure is Warnock says "it was one of them, not one of them" or "it wasn't one of them, it was one of them"

His English is fine, it's his judgement that's suspect.

Is it now a club policy to wind Colin up?

I thought Colin was describing this which he admitted was still a sending off offence

I know. Maybe in the light of Warnock's allegations of shirt tugging, a transfer to UR&G is on the cards although FIFA doesn't allow 2 moves in 1 season without special dispensation.

wasn't an elbow designed to hurt the player

just a arm across the face.

Both types deserve a red but it wasn't thartcher-esque

But what's the point in making a distinction? If it wasn;t designed to hurt the player, what was it designed to do? He ran on the pitch, headed straight for Hunt, gave him a shove, swung his arm and missed, swung his arm again and made contact, then takes a swing again after being shown the red card. Seems he had designs on doing something from the off, and it wasn't playing football.

Be fair there is a clear distinction to be made, it was one of them, not one of them........................no seriously, its a difference between jabbing your elbow in someones face to do damage or shrugging someone off and catching them in the face (which is what Gillespie did IMO) either way still a red.

Personally I thought it was somewhere in between. As someone else pointed out he never went for big Bikey but chose our wee Irish lad so wrongly condemned by certain quarters as a villian of world peace. The bully that is Gillespie should be locked in a room with Jade Goody for a fortnight.

I would agree that it was a challenge designed to shrug someone off but only IF he 1) hadn't already given Hunt a shove and 2) hadn't already failed to connect with a swinging elbow.

sorry blade, gillespie turned and clocked where Hunt was before he swung and led with the elbow, that was totally deliberate.

That doesn't take into account his second assault on Hunt.

Can't balme Colin for batting for his player, but that said, I may go back to watching the Championship coverage on a Sunday next year, just to keep up with Mr W's antics.

Regardless, there was no ball around. There was no challenge to "shrug" off. He lashed out at Hunty, twice. Instant red. The ref got it correct, only he should have given him another red for the "was it a punch or wasn't it a punch" punch. Also the ref should have given him another red for last season for that amazing dive he did to try and get a penalty & get Harper sent off, oh hang on.......
