Dirk Gently Now The Football Supporter magazine in which it is an exclusive ha been published, I can share with you this interesting dilemma....
Because of the arrangement between the PL and the FL, if a team is promoted back to the PL after only 1 year, their second year's parachute payment is split between the other teams in the championship - ie. they all get over half a million pounds each the following season. The Burnley chairman has pointed out that this raises an interesting little scenario.
Let's take Watford as an example. What would happen if for their last match of the season - away to Blackpool - they needed a win to be assured of promotion? Blackpool - whose season is over- would know that if they were beaten by Watford then as a result they would get an extra half a million quid the following season. Just how hard would they try to win the match?

If Watford were to do this, would Sheff Utd and Charlton also recieve extra money (assuming they both don't go up)?
