Happy that our new signing got on the scoresheet.

Wouldn't read anything into how the season will pan out though.

A game like this against decent opposition is a chance for the players to get on the same wavelength and get some momentum going into the season. From that point of view, job well done.

Now watch it all come unravelled on saturday

Decent opposition, good result ok it was only a friendly but a fair performance, one thing I know about Hunt N from watching him up this end of the world is that he will score goals if he gets the sevice .

I love the analysis of friendlies.
Win and it's great for the confidence and sets players up for the season ahead.
Draw or lose and it's just a game to improve fitness and the result means nothing.
Bring on the real thing even if it is only Championship football.

Kitson,Doyle,Lita and Long would all have scored more goals last season if they had got the service.
So tell me what new players are going to provide that service?

Sounds like our performance improved in 2nd half.

No suprise that was when Marek, BC, and Doyle all came on.

A win against a Swedish premier league team who are match fit = an important, confidence building, result.

That is the million doller question ? and one which we are all desparate to know the answer to, but, the outpourings from the club seem to suggest that no one else will come in unless someone goes.

I can't find out if Lita was involved (or Long for that matter) but 1 - 3 is a good away win against a team who are in form.

I don't remember Lita or Long being mentioned in commentary of the second half...

Kebe may prove a good provider. Hunt may be over his post new contract blues. Convey may stay fit and find form. Marek will play more, We'll see more of the ball and be able to control it better at this level so Harper may create more. Keep Shorey and he'll get plenty of assists too.

There is a mass of creativity in the side just waiting to show itself. Lets not forget that Lita and Doyle both spent much of last season missing good and possibly even easy chances, so it wasn't all the providers fault.

An encouraging result. No friendly is ever anything to pin the seasons hopes on, but it's another win, against decent opposition this time with contributions from a young player and a new signing. One step closer to full match fitness too.

G'arn Reading!

I'd disagree at this stage. The first couple, the results don't matter, but with a week to ten days to go it has to be more than a fitnes exercise. That's why the games tend to get harder as you go along. The point now is to get the team to gel and work naturally together, and a result like this - especially with three goals coming close together towards the end of the game - tends to suggest that the point is being achieved, although of course it's not proof.
