long - why is he still in the starting line up?
kebe was poor today - but he has been one of our best performers this season so far

From what has happened so far this season i would call it a falling apart year

Also bearing in mind the contract situation this year, I think it is Ingi, Gunna, Long(?), plus the lurkers (Bennett, Sodje), who I think are in danger of being released.

Look at Derby, it is possible to slide downwards and downwards after being relegated, I think Coppell can have a year if he wants, because he will staedy the club and ensure thatwe don´t run into serious trouble a la Leeds (I´m not talking about the finacial side more the slipping down of multiple divisions)

Harper = Dead Wood

the team has been considerably weakened
if we had brought in good replacements for the likes of kitson and little people would be willing to allow the new players time to settle in - unfortunately this has not been the case

I think it's far too early to say what their reaction to not getting a transfer is going to be.

As for Doyle/Hunt etc being "Shoreys" - I think that's unfair. I would like to think that they have the intelligence to realise that playing to their best abilities and getting themselves noticed as good players between now and January, will more likely get them a Prem team coming in for them in January, rather than teams avoiding them like the plague because they're playing rubbish.

I think Ipswich scored when he came on, but he did go on to hit the crossbar IIRC. Didn't sound as though his touch was as bad as Long anyway.

My hubby is pointing out that we are terrible for going from 'greatest team the world has ever seen' to 'we were dire, relegation is on the horizon, Coppell out'. He says at least we aren't Gillingham.

Look at Fulham. Almost certs to go down last year and only made it on GD with a goal at Portsmouth in the last game. Now they've bought Zamora, Johnson and Gera and they're flying. If we had stayed up would we have strengthened like this? No.

And Long started? What must N Hunt think, when he's brought down from Scotland, scores when chosen for cup games and then is not chosen again? How is this going to foster teamwork? Yeah, Noel, we'll pick you for unimportant League Cup games, but when it matters we'll choose someone who hasn't scored for months.

Doesn't change the fact that they want to leave though does it? In any unit, those that want out are a cancer to team spirit.

Here I agree, we do need to invest in some real qulaity, but I don´t think it will be this year. We will stabilise, sell Hunt and Doyle, prob Harper as well in Jan or summer, get a new manger when Coppell leaves, and we SHOULD give this money to him/her to invest in their players.
