Royal Lady Oh change the record you boring old git. Just admit that forwhatever reason you have a problem with women and football. You're always niggling at everything I say on here.

It's a sad day if you can't express your opinions about the team you support, whether they be good or bad.

Haven't you got some ironing to do or summat?

Blimey RL, I didn't pick up anything like what you said from yellowcoat's post. It may well be that he has a problem with 'women and football' (I don't know) but his last post didn't really say anything about it.

No. His last post didnt. But read all the posts he has made in response to mine previously and you'll see a pattern.

Plus, he's not actually contributing anything to this discussion if you notice, just having a poke at me and Schards. Again.

Anyway, that's all inconsequential to this debate. Of sorts. But I recommend you keep a look out for Mr Yellowcoat and his posts in future. He once reported me for typing the word fckers on here. It was ok though, Mod 5 told him they'd sort me out. And he was most grateful to them for doing so!! Best murking I'd done in quite some time. 8)

Given how much dealing the banks are into at the moment you could be holding for a VERY long time.

Gives you much more time to post, though - so it's not all bad.

Vision
Victor Meldrew I don't agree with Schards about the stadium expansion but do feel that it is very premature to hail our current position as a success. After the one-shot-on-target game at Forest, the weedy capitulation at Charlton and the poor effort at Ipswich I can't just wipe those performances from the memory bank as if they didn't happen-they did and they happened within the past 8 weeks,i.e in living memory..

And this is the sort of thing that puzzles me at times. All through those games you describe we were playing at home and taking teams to the cleaners and yet people gloss over that in order to concentrate on the negative. You say you can't wipe away the memory of those bad away performances yet have totally ignored the exceptional home form. Likewise on the other side of the coin , those home results don't disguise the fact that our away form up until the Wolves game was poor. Seems to me people are just looking to find anything they want to prove their already entrenched point of view whilst conveniently ignoring any evidence to the contrary.

There was a post a few days ago where (discussing our form prior to the Wolves victory) our Home form was described as "decent" ( Home results 2-0, 4-2, 6-0, 4-0 ) whilst away form was "diabolical"( Away results 0-0, 2-4, 0-2, 2-2 ). Simple truth is we've yet to be outside of a Play-Off spot after we've played the equal number of Home games to Away games.

Equally it demonstrates to me that any talk of Schards being proved right or wrong is pretty irrelevant.

As we were the highest placed of the relegated clubs at the end of last season then it could be argued and no doubt would that unless we top the division then we have regressed.

Equally it could be argued that any sustained promotion challenge whilst reducing our overall debt and putting us on a secure financial footing would be an indicator of progress especially if we are blooding more of our own youngsters into the bargain.

Its a shame in a way because the original post has actually triggered off some decent discussion which is the whole point afterall. Its just a shame really that its been generally swamped by some of the insane point scoring between certain factions on here. Its very occasionally entertaining but for the most part a bit embarrassing in truth particularly when im just as guilty of all of the above myself at times.

I'm replying to Vision's post inadvertently reproduced above.
You make the point that I and others have exaggerated the negative in declaring the away results as poor but have not heralded the excellent home performances.
My journey home from Reading is about an hour and a half whereas from Ipswich it was getting on for three and a half hours and even Charlton around two and a half hours so the effect of the day's performance tends to last longer.

Perhaps I think about it all too much but I am always thinking(well not quite always) about how we might improve as a club both on and off the pitch rather than sitting back and wallowing in successes that may only be minor-the bigger picture as I see it is that the club f****d up over relegation and over not improving the stadium.
The fact that a couple of younger players have done well over a very short period and that there has been a net gain on transfers doesn't have as much impact on me as relegation and the stadium non-event.
I was glad to see your admission of guilt.

Typical. Schards gets a hard time for making reasonable posts on a subject he clearly cares and knows about, and yet he gets away with tendentious nonsense on AE political threads.

RL, is this another one of your stalkers or posters who have it in for you?

You seem to read far too much into things on here and take it far too much to heart and it seems it just gets you, and schards into a bit of a pickle at times.

I'm over the moon with our current form, but I still agree that we've been held back a bit over the last 18 months by an apparent lack of ambition to take us forward.

Apart from that I'll continue to let Mr Angry, Victor and Vision post on my behalf....

Since you asked - yes. Yes he is. Not a stalker, but he does appear to hold a grudge against me, and as I said, I have no idea why, other than I'm a woman. I don't care if people don't agree with me, but I do care that instead of arguing their case rationally, as I try to do, they merely take pot shots at me and don't actually contribute to the "discussion" in place.

I don't know why we don't shut this thread down and revisit it at the end of the year/season at which point everyone can get their 'told you so's in after the event when we know what's happened and we can all move on.

Yellowcoat I agree. Once again both Schards & Fag Ash Lil continue to use these boards to make their usual small minded non football related swipes against the club. Even worse they have been used as moderators on here to allow unbalanced postings to continue.

Yellowcoat If you ever give RL a regular spot I will have to switch my allegiance to 107. She spouts enough nonsense on here already without being on the radio.

Yellowcoat We are very lucky to be able to read his views and it is even better that his wife chooses to share her expertise with us on many diverse subjects such as cash free retailing, catering, bar management, crowd dynamics and control, ticketing sales and seat allocation etc.

Yellowcoat Well I for one would rather read the more positive views of RR and BW rather than the negative rantings of Fag Ash Lil and her Luddite husband who even bet against the club they say they support!

Yellowcoat That explains why Schards & Fag Ash Lil are so against the stadium expansion!

He insists on calling me Fag Ash Lil - I presume he once read a post on here from me that mentioned that I smoke.

I'll take your word for it but it does seem like this happens to you a lot more than anyone else, which is why I think maybe you need to take a chill pill and not take people disagreeing with you quite so personally.
