FiNeRaIn Here's the deal. The money is irrelivant as madejski doesn;t ivnest it in the club, so whatever the fee is, dont expect to see it invested in the team or academy, etc. With that in mind, id rather he stayed.

he invests more than anyone else whos interested would

im pretty happy with the way hes built this club from 2/3 rd tier shed dwellers

Row Z Royal
chilipepper91 Judging by today so far... Stay.

Apart from the par-for-the-course air-kick in front of goal, of course.

Small deflection by (possibly) MacFadden changed the flight which caused teh miss, not SHunt being shit

Oh, BTW, £3m can feck right off. £5m minimum. And I'd rather we kept him. He is good enough for the prem at a push. Especially if he isn't our only threat going forward. A 2nd decent winger and he is effective, but we could do with some cover. Hopefully Henry is stepping up to that plate.

Here's the REAL deal if a bid less than £5mill comes in then everything including this thread is irrelevant as we will not accept.

I'm not fussed tbh. I'd be happy for him to stay, purely because his set piece delivery has become so good this season and the Irish lads seem to love playing together. On the other hand, his performances in the second part of last season were pretty poor and we could see a repeat of that if he is denied a move. I have every confidence he'll be replaced if he does move on, so having said that I'm not too bothered either way. There are other players that I'd be more gutted about losing, eg. Bikey and Doyle.

Same old answer to any stay/gp polls. Do I believe we will sign a replacement who is as good (and I don't think the quality of Hunt's dead-ball delivery this season can be questioned, for a start)?

Answer - no. Therefore, I want Hunt to stay,

Waht cmonurz said. Plus I can't see an adequate replacement for Left Mid waiting in the wings.

- I vote stay

Depends on his reaction to staying really.

Unfortunately we can't see into the future to know the answer to that one!

Personally I won't be too disappointed to see him go, as long as it's for a decent price.

This idea that Hunt could be easily replaced surprises me. For me, he is a unique player. He hasn't that much skill but his tigerish attitude is extraordinary; and we won't easily find another winger who tackles.

Here's the counter-offer

The money is irrelevant because SC tends to buy replacements cheaper than those sold - then somehow moulds them into the team spirit so that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. With that in mind, it doesn't matter whether he stays or goes.

Just over a week to go before the panic-buying season starts.
Whatever happens with him I do hope that the club is ready with plan B.
We had all that notice with Shorey and Sidwell but when it came to it the club wasn't ready-Surman is there for the taking if some stupid Premiership club is prepared to cough up silly money.
Personally I am much more concerned about Doyle, and to some extent Bikey, leaving.

An interesting poll. You'd think from all the Hunt slagger-offers on here that he was unpopular, but the poll says different. Perhaps the Hunt-slaggers and Harper-slaggers are just an unrepresentative group of life's moaners who take up a disproportionate amount of this board's space. I hope Hunt doesn't read this board, in case he gets the wrong impression. He's a key part of a team that's second in the league, and most of us realise that, it seems.

Agreed. The 'Hunt slagger-offers' as you so eloquently put it are just loud mouth idiotcunters and are certainly in a minority, also seem to know very little about football.

Just a shame Hunt's tackling is such a rare occurance. When he does tackle, it's because Armstrong (or Shorey) has blocked off their winger who'splayed in the full back, marked by Hunt, who gets an easy tackling chance. It was the same with Convey and even Oster and Little, even Kebe's tackled their left back at least twice this season in similar situations.

In other words, we have two wingers at the club who tackle just as much as Hunt.

It all comes down to attitude. I think Shunt is a key part of the team - if he wants to be. I remember so strongly wanting Shorey to stay - even had him as my screensaver - then we kept him and he played like he couldn't be bothered to scratch his back if it itched! I want Huntie to stay - but if he's determined to go - let's grab the cash.

Better players than Hunt have left Reading before, much to the disappointment of many of the fans who had not wanted them to leave. Ultimately though it matters not one jot what the fans think. If Hunt wants to go he will, regardless of anything put on a stay/go poll on this site.

I moderate some forums (fora?) for a software company. These have nearly 100,000 members, but most visit once and never again. Around 2000 members visit regularly - i.e. at least once a week - and of those just under 250 post regularly. Away from hard figures it is my impression that the frequent posters divide into three nearly equal groups:

1. People who are just trying to learn the software and want sensible questions answered.

2. People who keep buying upgrades year after year, but feel the need to accuse us of being a bunch of crooks who are ruining their lives with our substandard product, and threaten us with law suits.

3. People who love the product so much that they probably wouldn't complain if we sent round a gang of thugs to put their eyes out with sharpened sticks.

Odd thing is, if we run a poll, it's the ones who never post that vote. I've no idea if the figures for HNA follow the same sort of ratios as ours, but I would suspect it's the lurkers, rather than the posters, votes at work here.
