The EP reports that Campbell-Rice is lined up should Hunt depart.

Tilehurst End
Barry the bird boggler Now we've signed Jay Tabb I think we can forget about this one happening.

Not if Convey and Hunt both leave. Besides Tabb can play anywhere in Midfield so not neccessarily signed as a winger.

I don’t think Coppell would have signed him to play in central midfield as we have so many

Jay Tabb has also been playing right back for Cov, so i don't think he has been signed completely with Hunt in mind.

Karajan considered not ready, Matejovsky not comfortable with this level/style of football, Gunnarson's always more impressive from the bench. Suddenly options in the centre are fewer.

^Gunnar doesn't have the legs. I'd rather see a young and energetic Karacan on the bench waiting to come on for 30 minutes.

That's kind of disproved by the way Bryn has played whenever he's come on.

'greed.

Boris is the RFC super-sub. He'd probably make a decent fist of going in goal, such is his versatility.

From SSN - Does this suggest a premiership club are looking at him I wonder?

22.39 Barnsley winger Jamel Campbell-Ryce admits a move to the Premier League would be hard to resist, but insists he is fully focused on helping the Tykes pull away from the Championship relegation scrap.

I think it suggests that SSN are after some "news" with which to keep transfer speculation high and therefore keep viewers tuning in.

Tabb IS Hunt's replacement. (if Hunt does go). You wont see another winger come in.

EDIT: Now we have Harding too. I really don't hold out any hope of another left winger coming in if Hunt leaves. I think the replacement is already here just in case.

Campbell-Ryce has Prem dream
Tykes star flattered by top-flight interest

Barnsley winger Jamel Campbell-Ryce admits a move to the Premier League would be hard to resist, but insists he is fully focused on helping the Tykes pull away from the Championship relegation scrap.

The South Yorkshire club turned down two seven-figure bids for the Jamaican international last week as interest in his considerable talent mounts.

The former Charlton winger, who recently signed a new deal with Barnsley, is flattered by the interest shown in him but insists he will not actively pursue a move away from Oakwell.

"Obviously it is flattering and I guess it would be too good to turn down, but at the moment I am a Barnsley player and committed to the cause here," Campbell-Ryce told skysports.com.

"It is nice to have an interest from top clubs, but I'll just see what happens.

"I did know which clubs they were, and they were good football clubs that I would be interested in speaking to, but I play for Barnsley and I will do until told otherwise."

Prepared
The Tykes have failed to register a win in their last four games, but Campbell-Ryce is confident that the recent barren spell will not affect them.

"I don't think it worries us at all and it isn't as bad as it seems because they weren't all in the league, with the cup in between, but we have a game against Ipswich on Tuesday and we just need to be prepared to go out and hopefully get three points," he added.

They face Ipswich next Tuesday in the hope of gaining some revenge for the 3-0 defeat they suffered at Portman Road earlier in the season, but Campbell-Ryce insists the points on offer is the main priority.

"The game away to them was kind of gifted to them due to a couple of mistakes and the scoreline was rather flattering for them, so yeah we would like to get some revenge for that," he said.

"The main thing, though, is to get the three points and push up the table, as we don't want to get dragged into a relegation scrap."

we are in a really tough market

any player good enough to play in the prem will be looking at prem clubs, and they will be looking at him
we will have to go with the ones the prem clubs dont quite fancy, or dont think are ready yet
if a prem club takes an interest it drives the price up out of our range anyway, we just move on to th enext targhet
thats just the way it is

I think the club's set-up and infrastructure would appeal to a lot of players - however, where we fall down is what we are prepared to pay their clubs in terms of transfer fees and what we are prepared to pay the players in terms of wages. We will always buy players that are relatively cheap to sign and won't demand too much in terms of wages - thats the Reading way - sometimes it works and sometimes it won't - not knocking it, just saying thats the way it is

BBC

1325: Can I introduce you to an old friend? It's only Championship Mole (getting a little above his station already, perhaps?): "If Hammill and Mifsud have just signed for Barnsley, it could spark a transfer domino affect which sees Jamal Campbell-Ryce head to Reading, filling the void left by Stephen Hunt's departure... to Spurs perhaps?" We'll have more from moley throughout the day.

I just read that but wouldn't it be a bit unusual for the domino effect to work back to front? Hunt would have to move first or we'd have too many players if the deal fell through.
