Is a shake up of the coaching staff needed?

by Terminal Boardom » 25 Feb 2009 15:09

The midfield is really struggling to create anything and I doubt that it would make a jot of difference as to who is on the pitch at the time. Which makes me think that there is something more fundamentally wrong with the set up behind the scenes. Perhaps the time has come to look at the coaching staff and see what can be done to freshen things up. Perhaps it is just too comfortable for too many people and that a new face or 3 in the coaching side of things may give a bit of a kick up some under-performing backsides.

Haven't they had a new face on the scene in recent weeks anyway ?

Or is Poortvliet not here anymore ?

If we're going to have one, please, please, please wait until the season ends.
Cheers.

Not necessarily a shake-up, not a good idea at this stage of the season, but certainly some fresh ideas are needed. Perhaps Coppell should be a little more hands-on for a while.

And who is this Poor Violet?

If a shake-up is needed, it must be done immediately.
We're not scoring goals, the midfield looks ineffective and the defence is starting to leak.
Comparing ourselves with the pants performance of Wolves and Brum is crazy.
So we're the best of a bad bunch. I hate that.
Something significant and bold needs to be done.

A wee bit of mixing up the players and possibly a change of formation will do the trick. A few new ideas probably wouldn't be a bad thing though

:? Instability in the middle of the season is not the answer.
If we're going to change, change at the end of the season so the changes have time to stabilise themselves.

The stability of no goals, uncreative midfield and dubious defence is the sort of stability we don't need.
If there's a problem, at least try and fix it rather than hoping it will fix itself.
Isn't that what management is meant to do?

Noggin the Nog [ dubious defence

Um, we've got a pretty solid defence....

Our problem is drawing games 0-0, not conceding hatfuls !

Last 10 league games = 7 goals conceeded.

Woeful

Problem is more only 12 scored. 7 of which came in 2 of the games.

A shake up might well be the answer. Its clearly not down to lack of ability by the players.

It might be a bit late in the season now, but twice under Pardew we saw a change in backroom staff totally turn our season around in 99/00 and 01/02.
